Matt felt like every day how he saw and felt about Alex was becoming blurred. Yes he and Bella got attacked and all that, but if he didn't do what he did with Beck, would he and Alex still be able to work. No he doubted that. Alex had this weird obsession with Beck that he had witnessed live and he started to doubt if Alex actually liked him. Did he just do all this to get on Beck's nerves? He shouldn't be the one to talk. He didn't like Alex the way he liked Beck, did he? It was comfortable and convenient at the time.

That didn't stop the self-loathing though. It was the whole song and dance all over again. That Alex wasn't the one that didn't deserve him, he was the one that didn't deserve Alex. Yes the guy had found out about him and had threatened to out him, but if he didn't do all that and cheat on him with Beck they would have been okay. So looking at it Alex had a right to react.
