Seemed like the whole thing that happened with Alex was one thing that dad wouldn't let go. In his defense he was a teenage boy. Didn't all of them do stuff like this. Dad should count himself lucky that he and Alex weren't doing worse on his couch. He should just let this go instead of both of them having this tense stare off over breakfast.
"Matthew" his dad was getting ready to lay it all on him.
"Yes dad" he mumbled. He wondered how he would react if he had called him by his name.
"That boy of yesterday…"
"Alex" he helped.
"Yes. Alex" Matthew didn't comment on the dry tone he used when calling the name. Not like he was defending him, but he didn't have his face pummeled in so he'd give gratitude to who it was due. Even though he had been the one to escalate things. "Is he your friend?"
"Yes he is dad" good thing was that he had gotten better at lying.
And she's back again. Pray for Matt.
