章 87: Chapter 87: The Garbage Can of the Leaky Cauldron (Edited)

Soon Peggy made her decision.

"I want to see the magical world."

It wasn't the supposed gold that impressed Peggy, but the phrase "control of destiny." In her mind, nothing was more important than her own self, and it was tempting to be in control of her own destiny.

Therefore, she wanted to see the so-called magical world.

So he finished his hot chocolate, got up and headed for the stairs, when he suddenly remembered something: "By the way, there's a dead cat in the pool outside."

Both Tom and Mr. Grossman froze for a moment.

"No, Tom saved the cat when he came in here" Mr. Grossman shook his head.

There was a meow and the big orange cat came in from the living room. Tom gave him a little treat, and the big orange cat was happy, rubbing his head against Mr. Grossman's pant leg.

"Oh." Peggy stood on the stairs and nodded, "Remember to send him outside, stray cats aren't clean, he'll attract fleas." Then she went upstairs to change her clothes.

Tom watched her back, his eyes black as an abyss. Mr. Grossman shook his head and sighed, looking at the pouring rain and the orange cat, and felt helpless. Since his daughter didn't like it, he couldn't keep the cat and decided to get rid of it when the rain stopped.

But she could give it a good meal before letting it go.

Peggy changed her clothes. This time she pulled out the dress she only wore for the awards show. She wore a red dress and her own pearl necklace. Of course, black stockings and heels were also a must.

Having been carefully groomed, little Peggy has a beauty that her peers have never had. She flew like a lark to her father and let him brush her hair.

Mr. Grossman gently combed Peggy's brown hair and then tied it back with a white ribbon.

"Don't keep Tom waiting too long, Dad" Peggy said.

"I won't" Said Mr. Grossman.

The steady tapping of toes on the floor showed Peggy's impatience inside. The young woman who had previously not wanted to deal with Hogwarts, now didn't want to wait a second.

Mr. Grossman fixed his daughter's hair and put on his own coat. He then drove his daughter and Tom to the airport, where they were to catch the nearest flight to London.

When they arrived at the airport, the rain had stopped. As Mr. Grossman bought hamburgers for the two young men, Peggy sat down next to Tom, "So, what can magic accomplish?"

Tom looked sideways at the young woman in red, "Magic can do almost anything."

"Even come back from the dead?" Peggy said.

"Yes, yes you can find the Resurrection Stone" Tom said.

"A resurrection stone?" Peggy's eyes flashed with longing, but that was soon overshadowed by a look of doubt.

Tom told Peggy the legend of the three Peverell brothers. But before she could get to the end of the three brothers, Mr. Grossman returned with three paper bags.

"What are they talking about?" Mr. Grossman asked after sitting down.

"The Three Sacred Artifacts of the Magic World." Tom took the paper bag and pulled out the hamburger; Mr. Grossman had been generous enough to buy not only hamburgers, but also a bunch of chicken nuggets, onion rings, and other small snacks.

"Peggy, if you had to choose, which Sacred Artifact would you like to have?" Tom asked suddenly.

"Can I only choose one? Since I can't have them all, I hope it's the Resurrection Stone. That way I can see my mother" Peggy said.

At those words, Mr. Grossman's movements froze and Tom stopped chewing as he swallowed his hamburger, "The Resurrection Stone can't really raise the dead. Keep that in mind."

Peggy just smiled slightly and ignored him, concentrating on eating her burger in small bites.

If she had the ancient wand, the two remaining Holy Artifacts would be hers sooner or later, wouldn't they?

Soon the subject of the Deathly Hallows was off the table.

Peggy kept asking questions, soaking up a lot of knowledge about the magical world from Tom like a sponge.

Soon they arrived at the Leaky Cauldron.

"Count three bricks up the garbage can, count two more to the other side, and tap your wand three times..." Tom said.

"Wait, what if someone moves this trash can?" Peggy asked the question suddenly.

The garbage can in the Leaky Cauldron can be used as a coordinate to locate that special brick, but what if one day someone moved the garbage can?

Peggy looked at Mr. Grossman with expectant eyes, and Mr. Grossman couldn't resist, so he reached over and moved the trash can a few steps. But when he set the trash can down, a magical sight occurred: the trash can slowly returned to its original position.

"Many a young wizard has made this joke." Suddenly, a voice came from behind them, and it was old Tom, the owner of the Leaky Cauldron.

Tom and Mr. Grossman: Σ(⊙▽⊙"

Peggy: ...

Tom hurried to open the passage to Diagon Alley, introducing the magical world to the Grossmans.

The cool, mysterious and bustling Diagon Alley presented itself to their eyes in full.

"Come on, let's go to Gringotts first for money, I hope you brought enough gold" Tom said.

Mr. Grossman had two construction companies and was a man of means. They exchanged the money and the three of them went straight to Ollivander's wand store, as Peggy wanted.

Mr. Ollivander took Peggy's physical measurements and then picked out a few wands, but Peggy seemed to be very picky and tried hundreds of wands in a row without finding one that worked for her.

In the end, a wand made of elderberry, phoenix feathers and thirteen inches long barely passed muster. But Mr. Ollivander was still not very happy about it.

"Strange, very strange, I've never seen anything like it..." Mr. Ollivander was also confused, according to this girl's data, he should have already found a wand for her, had he made a mistake? This had never happened before, not even Harry Potter had tried so many wands.

But, in any case, Peggy had found a wand that suited her... even if it seemed to Mr. Ollivander that the wand barely passed.

Next they went shopping in Diagon Alley, buying a whole range of textbooks, then stationery and, most notably, Mrs. Malkin's robes; there she picked out a dozen robes. Tom thought that Mr. Grossman might not be able to cope for the next seven years....

It seemed that Peggy had agreed to go to Hogwarts.

In the end, Tom's orientation mission was successfully completed.

Before leaving, Mr. Grossman asked Tom, "So, what are you hiding?"

"You have to come to school, because as I get older, the magic in young wizards becomes harder and harder to control, and will eventually cause a disaster," Tom whispered to him, "But it would be too threatening to say that from the beginning, and I don't want to do it."
