A smile crept up on Delarcy's lips, and she turned around to look at the hologram.
She walked towards it with Diana following behind her and picked up the call.
A woman who was none other than Flora came into view, and Diana stared intently at her.
"Hi, what is your request?" Delarcy went straight to the point, and Flora, who was not able to see them because they turned off the camera, cleared her throat.
"Um, hello. Someone introduced me to your organization, so I am hoping maybe I can... give an assignment." She replied, and Delarcy glanced at Diana.
"Who is it? Send a picture." She said, and a few moments passed before a sudden notification popped in.
She clicked it, and a photo of Lorenzo came in.
"Mr. Vicenzo?!" In a deep surprise, Delarcy asked with furrowed eyebrows, and Flora nodded.
"Yes, he's the one. Are you accepting it or not?" She inquired with a bit of disappointment in her tone, and Delarcy cleared her throat.
"Well... we are not exactly going to reject it, but a heavy price will be paid." She shrugged, and Flora's face crumpled in confusion.
"What do you mean?" She questioned and Delarcy took a deep breath.
"Miss, I would like to remind you that this is Mr. Vicenzo that we are talking about. He's not just any ordinary man whom you can offend, so yes, if you really want us to do this job, then you will have to pay heavily. After all, I am putting my employees at risk. So it's up to you."
She explained, and Flora went silent on the other side of the phone.
Diana, on the other hand, puckered her face as the name Vicenzo sounded quite familiar to her.
"Where have I heard this name before?" She whispered to herself and immediately raised her head when Flora's voice resounded.
"Fine! I will pay any price. However, if you guys fail at this job... you will have to pay me back...twice! Am sure you don't want to mess with me?"
She emphasized in a threatening tone, and completely unphased by her words, Delarcy smiled and transferred a form to her.
"Please, sign your name and everything, including your signature and address. You must do that before we begin the mission."
She explained it to her and, although a bit displeased by that, Flora signed it immediately and sent it back to her.
Delarcy crossed-checked through everything and slightly nodded her head in satisfaction.
"Alright. The payment is two hundred thousand euros."
Shocked instantly by the price, Flora screamed in disbelief. "What the fuck!!"
"Holy shit!" Diana, who was appalled as well, whispered in utter skepticism.
She blinked her eyes and turned her head to look at Delarcy.
Delarcy ignored her and arched her brow at Flora, who was ranting non-stop.
"Are you trying to rob me or what?" Flora asked, and with an indifferent expression on her face, Delarcy proceeded to reply.
"Miss, like I said to you before, it's up to you. If you feel it's too much, I can do you the favour of hanging up the call."
She said with a straight face and Flora exhaled heavily in annoyance.
"Fine!" Her face clenched tightly in displeasure, and a half smile emerged on Delarcy's face.
"That's good. Please transfer half of the payment. The rest, you can do so after the job is done successfully."
She typed out their work account and sent it to her.
Flora received it, and though a bit unwilling to do so, she eventually ended up sending half of the money to achieve what she was aiming for.
"Seen. We are happy to help you. This job will take three months, so please leave everything to us. Once the job is done, you will be notified."
She assured, but not satisfied with the three-month maximum, a deep frown ensued on Flora's face.
"What do you mean by three months? That is too long. I want two months. I believe that will be enough."
She suggested, and Delarcy pinched between her brows.
"Miss, this job won't be easy, so for now we will go with three months. Who knows, it might even be done in a month's time. So let's leave it at three months, alright."
A half smile emerged on her face, and Flora went quiet for a few moments before agreeing.
"Fine! I will be reaching out. Goodbye." She scoffed and hung up the call.
A long, deep breath exited Delarcy's nose, and she turned to look at Diana.
"What do you think? Can you do it?" She asked, and Diana bit her lower lip in contemplation.
"Hmm... yes, I can. I will definitely put my all into it-"
"No! Not that you will put your all into it, but you must succeed at this mission. This is the biggest assignment we have ever received, so giving it to you is a huge honor. Therefore, you must not fail me. Do you understand?"
She arched her brow at her, and Diana slowly nodded.
"Yes... I understand." She replied, and Delarcy took a deep breath.
"Good. You will be flying to New York next week. Your mission starts immediately, so feel at home here."
She placed her hands behind her back and proceeded to leave, but Delarcy stopped her in her tracks.
"Wait, what? I can't stay here till next week. My best friend is waiting for me. I need to go back and see her. And not just that, there are some important personal things that I need to take from home."
She explained, and Delarcy turned around to look at her.
"That is very risky, Diana. We promised you protection against your father, but that doesn't mean you can put yourself at risk anyhow. We might not be able to save you if anything goes wrong and that will be your fault."
She replied with a cold tone, and Diana rubbed her temples.
"I know, I know. But I promise I won't risk being caught. Those things are really important to me, and I need to take them with me."
She pleaded, and Delarcy shrugged. "Fine. As you wish. "
"One more thing." Diana quickly stopped her before she could leave, and she turned to look at her with a displeased expression on her face.
"What is it?"
"Can I... bring my best friend along with me?"
