章 49: Chapter 49- Moar…

Inside long ren's temporary resting area, he was laying on the fluffy bed with his head completely into the pillow.

A thing he discovered a few years ago is that his lungs have improved so much that he could stay breathless for 10 minutes and have no problems at all. Allowing him to stay in this position as much as he wants to while still feeling extremely comfortable.

He likes this position to muffle out noises and clear his mind, as thinking while being in this position helps him collect his thoughts faster. It's like a mini-sleep, really.

And so, the shelled up long ren did not hear his door opening, revealing Yun Ning in a different robe than before.

She looked at long ren's still figure and closed the door gently, thinking he was still fast asleep, and went to sit on a chair beside him.

As she gaze at long ren, she didn't know whether to wake him up or not. He had been sleeping for a few hours now and judging from his famished look before, he had not eaten in a while.

Though cultivators could go without food for quite some time, having nutritional meals at proper intervals could only help in the long run. Especially when those meals are made without its cost in mind.

Yn was about to leave the ring on top of the drawer beside the bed when she noticed a movement in the corner of her eyes. She saw long ren slowly move his head towards her direction and his eyes opened, gazing at her.

"Slept well?" Yun Ning asked with a bright smile adorning her cute face,

long ren slowly got his upper body up and rubbed his half-open eyes, trying to register what was happening in front of him.

He opened and closed his eyes several times, confirming his vision, and sure enough, she was real. "Mn, Good morning Yun Ning," long ren said as he yawned awake.

Yun Ning chuckled, "It's nighttime silly, you only slept for a few hours," She said, pointing at the window behind long ren.

"Oh," long ren said as he looked at the starry dim sky, he then looked back at Yun Ning as a blush appeared on his cheeks, "Uhh, sorry about…all that," He said, rubbing the back of his head as he held his head down,

But, as his head was about to look downwards, he felt a familiar touch grabbing his chin and pushing it upwards, "I told you to not say sorry all the time, right?" Yun Ning said, a glaring smile appearing on her face, "And stop looking downwards when we talk, Okay?"

"O…Okay," long ren stuttered, he felt like a kitten getting scolded by its mom, it hurt his pride somehow, but, it still felt better than anything else everyone had done to him, so he just accepts it, this time, willingly.

"Mn, that's good," Yun Ning removed her hand from long ren's chin and showed him the ring she brought, "You must be hungry right, Do you want to eat here or in a dining room downstairs?"

"Will your master join us?"

"I and Master had already eaten, so it's just you,"

"Oh, then eating here would be nice…Thanks," long ren said, and showed a wry smile as he continued, "Thanks…for everything,"

Yun Ning heard his voice as a wide smile bloomed on her face, her mood seemingly turned for the better as the air between them turned warm, "No problem, that's what friends are for, right?"

long ren opened his eyes wide and tears almost threatened to escape his eyes, yet he held on. He felt happy, really happy.

"Mn," he muttered as saying more would only let his tears free.

Yun Ning grabbed his hands and brought them through a door into a dining table, still inside the same room. A small dining table just like the one they sat on before.

This time, he did not refuse her request for a meal as Yun Ning let out possibly the posh-est meal long ren had ever encountered in this world.

A well over 400 gr of premium-looking steak of unknown meat origin, but even then, it still looks so appetizing as it is both crispy and juicy, the garnishes of crispy potatoes and charred asparagus-like vegetables only enhanced its already tempting image…

A clay pot filled with perfectly steamed rice as a plump crispy pork belly rested on top of it. Steam oozes from the pot as its delectable smell invades long ren's nose. He could see each grain of rice is slightly charred on its side. He swore he could almost hear the crunch that will form as he noms on them…

A majestic pot lays in the middle, housing what seems to be a crab-like meat soup complemented by asparagus, its texture so silky yet creamy as he scoops them out with a ladle. A grand waterfall formed as he tried scooping them into a bowl…

You get the point.

The surrounding air suddenly turned into one of elegance and exquisiteness as it houses such appetizing foods.

"...Is, is this really just for me, for one person?" long ren asked, a bit unsure and stunned. Sure he had heard, seen, and even tried some stupidly expensive meals from earth, but this is just…way too much.

Both in quantity, and also definitely in price.

Yun Ning smiled wryly in response, "Mn…Master does tend to spoil me quite a bit for everything,"

long ren looked at her wry smile and followed suit, "Yeah, I knew that feeling too, actually," long ren said.

He then remembered xing lao's teachings. He felt extremely grateful towards him, not as a master in cultivation, but as a friend, though he felt like more of an older brother type.

If xing lao didn't pressure him to visit Yun Ning today, things would definitely not end up like this, and he really didn't want anything to change.

long ren mentally made a note to himself to apologize and say his thanks to xing lao as soon as they met, it was long overdue anyway.

"You want to share some? I don't think I can finish all of this even though I'm quite hungry," long ren said as he grabs his set of cutleries and nudged one to Yun Ning.

"Sure," Yun Ning answered as she took the cutleries out of long ren's hands and moved to sit beside him, enjoying the food together.

long ren enjoyed his food as he nommed on them slowly.

They tasted really good, even by his earth's standard. Unlike other times, it is not just the quality of the ingredients that tasted superior, the seasonings, and everything else also surpassed long ren's expectations.

As he enjoyed his every bite, he looked to his side and saw Yun Ning already finishing twice his amount. Her pace fast, yet she still kept an air of elegance with every move.

"I never knew you were such a big eater," long ren said, as he suddenly realized saying those words might make Yun Ning uncomfortable, for many reasons, but it seemed like his worry was unfounded, much to Long ren's relief.

"Not really, I just eat so much because Master's foods helped in strengthening my body," Yun Ning answered while grabbing another piece of meat. "You and your master should join us every day, Master always makes more than enough anyway,"

long ren thought for a while and accepted her offer, free food, especially ones that are of this calibre is always welcome in long ren's stomach.

He wanted to spend more time with his new friend anyway, now that his doubts and mind had been cleared, there was no more need to ignore her for stupid silly reasons.

"Do you want to spar tomorrow?" long ren asked while scratching his cheek a bit,

Yun Ning heard his question and gulped down her food in surprise, "...Really?"

"Mn, we haven't done it in a while after all, and this time I'll tell you when I feel burnt out," long ren said, a genuine smile etched on his face,

Yun Ning only smiled at his response and giggled slightly, continuing to finish the rest of the meal.

'This is nice,' long ren thought, returning to his meal. He really enjoyed his time here, especially now.
