Bella stared at Justin with grey inquisitive eyes. He was very aware of the pair of eyes staring intently at him but he was just too happy to notice that he also had a smile on his face.
Currently, she was in his car, sitting next to him, while he drove them to somewhere very good for an assignment like theirs.
He had approached her after school period when she had been busy waiting for Miles to bring his car around. He had sat in his car and passed her a pleasant smile speaking words she didn't expect to ever hear from him.
" Annabella Curtis, I think we have an assignment to finish, were you planning on abandoning mine?", he had asked and she had just stared at him dumbfounded and the reply she could come up with, was, " I beg your pardon", like a British female who was caught off guard and didn't quite catch anything said to her at that moment.
She remembered even telling him about her wait for Miles after he had managed to explain what he meant to her but instead he got down from the car and energetically led her to the passenger door and helped her in, shutting the door with her inside. Worst of all she had just let him do that to her, no single protest, not even a silent one.
Now she sat here, just staring at him, observing him. Was this really Justin Gray because just yesterday he was very mean and rude with an overbearing attitude?
Just yesterday, he wanted nothing to do with her. He had even glared at her more than five times like she was just a little ant getting in the way of his plans or an annoying nuisance.
Now here he was, sitting next to her with his hands on the steering wheel, air pods on both his ears as he drove them down to where he thought was comfortable for an assignment like theirs with a smile on his face.
This was just too hard to believe. She narrowed her grey eyes at him wondering if this was a ploy to get back at her. Now that she thought of it, she had been too busy observing him to take any notice of the road they were taking.
She gasped when she saw him take another turn with trees and new houses being their only company. He was taken her through this part of town but what led to them going this far.
This side of Border town was not yet inhabited as construction was just finished last year and it was said that houses in this lane caused more than a poor man's salary for a year.
Only few people stayed in this area and it was obviously the rich ones who bought houses for travelling sakes and left the houses with just their house helps inhabiting it. But this place was also very secluded because it was literally empty and surrounded with just trees and forests.
Cars barely passed through this lane and the drive to where Justin felt comfortable was now making her uncomfortable.
What if he plans to abandon her here alone without a car to drive her back? That would be a long walk back to the heart of the town with her having learnt her lesson. Never trust just anyone.
She breathed in and laid unmoving on her chair feeling scared to the whims. The smile was still on his handsome face as he nodded to whatever he was listening to on the air pod.
She finally gave up the silent protest, she would ask him where he was taking her and in a matter of fact tone. She agreed with herself making an attempt to tap his shoulders for
his attention but he suddenly turned to stare at her.
She stopped with her index finger hanging in the air while his smile widened and he suddenly lifted his hand to his ear. He removed one of his wireless Bluetooth and handed it over to her.
She took it from him staring at it strangely, her fingers back to her side and no longer in the air. She stared at the Bluetooth for a while before placing it in her ear moving whilst her hair away.
Then a beautiful sound hit her and she suddenly smiled listening to the song he was also listening to. Well she knew this song.
She turned to stare at him and he smiled at her, his eyes asking if she liked the song and she smiled back as an answer already nodding along with him to the beat of the song as the music filled their ears.
Justin was listening to Taylor Swift's song ' You Need to Calm Down' and Bella couldn't help loving his fine taste in music as it soothed her heart all through the drive making it more comfortable.
Justin's car finally pulled up in front of a very beautiful gate. He typed in the code from inside his car and the gate automatically opened as he rode into the mansion. Her eyes widened at the beauty of the compound. It was a grey colored mansion with fine greeneries.
He finally stopped the car and encouraged her to get down which she gladly did whilst grabbing the only accessories she brought, her phone and her Louis Vuitton backpack.
Bella stared in awe at the huge mansion which was clearly designed with a modern taste. The compound was spacious and neat and every where spoke of money. Was this his comfortable space?
Although the place spoke money and beauty, she felt this loneliness engulf her and she sighed. " Won't you come in?", Justin asked behind her, he had been watching her expressions ever since he brought her here and it was finally one of awe by the time they reached his mansion.
" Is this where you live?", Bella asked finally meeting his eyes which she now noticed were staring at her intently and she did what she never thought she would do in a long time, she blushed and looked away.
Then unconsciously, she face slapped herself after realizing that she was blushing in front of him. She had made up her mind to blush for no guy, or even give a damn about any guy at the moment.
With a strong and determined heart, she stared back at him once again and this time he was staring ahead of her. She breathed out, unaware that she had even been nervous of staring back at him.
" I don't live here", he said as he started walking ahead of her and she followed behind with a two feet gap, making sure there was an opportunity to run away when it was required.
" Then who does?", she asked back finally noting what he had said to her. " No one, other than the caretakers. It's mine anyways and it's also my most comfortable space", he said softly and she nodded in understanding.
" But wait", she exclaimed suddenly not daring to take another step forward causing him to halt in his movements as well. He turned back to stare at her and his eyes suddenly narrowed as though he were just realizing the space between them.
" Why did you bring me here?", she asked slowly and he smiled warmly on seeing that she was just nervous. His eyes met her grey inquisitive eyes and he smiled, the way those grey eyes attract him like bee to honey, if you were to give him a whole day, he didn't think it would be enough to study those grey eyes.
This sort of eyes made it impossible to think straight or see past it. He knew likely that he adored her company but he couldn't ever let it get past adoration because although he's decided to live his life in happiness, he wouldn't dare put someone's heart on the line.
" For the assignment, so come on", he answered in regards to her question as he continued his journey knowing fully well that she was still standing and unmoving.
He had planned to play it cool and act like he was all sure that she would follow but when the gap between them increased and he could no longer smell that unique scent of hers, he so wanted to turn around and bring her close to him, himself but before he did turn.
He heard loud footsteps behind him and he turned to stare at her watching her walk over to him with all attributes of strong feminism.
He smiled standing there as he waited patiently for her to catch up to him and once she was close enough he heard her say.
" You better not try anything stupid while we are here else I won't hesitate to beat you up, I can throw a good punch you know", she then walked past him and he in turn followed behind her just smiling at how adorable she was for a good company.
