At seven, Heisuke came with a few thermal food boxes.
After helping Shoji to arrange the new stocks at the store, Heisuke waited for another part-timer to arrive before heading home to cook.
Because of Hisaki's wrist injury, Heisuke forbade her to cook unless it was a very simple dish. He also only allowed his wife to help prepare the ingredients if he was there with her.
Seeing Hisaki sprain her already injured right wrist due to a mishap before was enough for Heisuke to be extra careful about her condition.
"Mom, Hisaki."
Heisuke entered his mother's room. His lips instantly curved up at the sight of his mother and his wife playing a board game. They sat facing each other on the single couches with a coffee table in between them.
"Aren't you tired?" Mrs. Saeki's voice was imbued with distress, staring at her son, "After eating, immediately go back ah. Don't keep being here."
I'll explain here because I think we don't need a full chapter about it. Mrs. Saeki adamantly refused Mr. Hokama's proposal in the previous timeline. She believed that they couldn't be together and he deserved better.
Please mind that the Saeki family's condition was still extremely bad unlike in the current timeline because of Hisaki's early appearance. That was one reason why Mrs. Saeki rejected him. In the end, Mr. Hokama left the country and resided abroad. It happened before Heisuke's imprisonment.
Mr. Hokama was actually the one who paid for Mrs. Saeki's fee to live at the nursing home. Even though Shuuya was far more capable to do that and he won't hesitate to help, Mr. Hokama stepped forward and ask Shuuya to cover his tracks. This was something that no one knew until the end because Shuuya promised to take the secret to his grave.
