*knock*
*knock*
Alexandra thumped softly on the door. She stayed for a few seconds before the door clicked open.
"Come in." A voice from inside said and she walked into the room. The room was pitch black, except for the soft glow of the early morning sun.
"Ummm…good morning." She cleared her throat and uttered, she shifted her weight to her left leg.
"Is there a problem?" Michael asked, he glanced into her eyes but she wasn't staring back, her eyes were on the interesting floor.
"Yes…I mean, No. It's just… last night you were tipsy and sad, are..are you alright?" Her voice was almost inaudible.
Her words caught his attention.
"You saw me drunk last night?" He asked, pointedly.
"Yes, you..you held my hand and brought me to a corner, and…" she was cut off.
"Did I…say anything?...like a woman or something related?" He asked carefully. His tone was that of someone anxious.
"Yes, you said something about you meeting her…someone."
"Did I mention her name?"
"Ummm…you said something about a she-devil or something like that.."
"Shit!" He rumbled.
His outburst startled her, she shifted back a little.
"You didn't hear anything, you hear me? You didn't see me drunk nor said anything."
Bobbing her head furiously, she replied. "Yes..yes, I didn't see or heard anything…" Noticing how skittish she was, his tone softened.
"I didn't mean to scare you, I...I just don't want to recollect that phase."
"Oh…ok, I get it." She murmured. "Are you okay? You seem stressed out." She pinpointed. But he just shook his head and told her not to fret.
"No it's nothing, I think a headache is coming up, and I need a little more sleep." Taking this as a hint, she excused herself and allowed him to get more sleep as she walked out of the room.
She didn't even get to ask the question she wanted to ask. Maybe some other time. She reckoned as walked away.
"Why didn't you tell her some birdy got your dick wet?" Michael grunted at the arrival of Forsyth.
"I don't recollect telling you to enter my room, Four," Michael announced and scowled at Forsyth.
"That's because I didn't enter, I appeared." He shrugged and walked closer to Michael.
"So what was that? Couldn't grow the balls to tell her?" Forsyth queried as he fell on the couch close to Michael's bed. "Or you couldn't tell her a little witchy got your dick twisted."
"I would be with Mildred right now if I were you. After what she just went through I wouldn't leave her alone again," Michael said, hoping to get a reaction from Forsyth, but none. Like he had thought, hoping.
"Nah, she's good. Sean's looking after her."
"I know. But what Dominus wants he gets. And if he wants the girl to leave your Manor, Sean isn't powerful enough."
Forsyth sighs. "What exactly are you here for? And don't tell me that work shit, we both know there's no such bullshit."
Michael glimmered. "I wish I could say otherwise, but I'm seriously here for work."
"Keep trying to convince yourself." Forsyth snorted.
_______
"You've awakened." Mildred shot her head towards him, the voice wasn't familiar.
His face came into view and she moved backward.
"Who are you?" Her fearless gaze made Sean's brow twitch.
"You aren't afraid." Sean pointed out.
"I never was." Mildred retorted.
Despite her trying to keep a strong front, Sean knows she wasn't afraid, she was simply terrified.
"Good." Sean nodded his head knowingly.
"Are...Ummm..were you abducted too?" Mildred's question almost made him snort. Nobody was powerful enough to kidnap him.
But he decided to play along.
"I..yes. They..they killed my parents..and…" Sean's voice trembled as he professed, he even sounded more convincing than Mildred.
Mildred quickly moves closer to him and wraps her arms around him.
"Poor little boy, don't worry, I'll get you back in one piece." She ruffles his hair.
They both discussed their escape plan.
She studied the room and concluded that whoever the kidnapper was a wealthy person, the room looked fancy and…
*knock*
*knock*
*door opens*
The knocking and opening of the door made both their heads snap at the door.
Sean groan internally in annoyance, he was really enjoying his time with Mildred. Portraying himself as a weak little boy isn't something he does every day.
Mildred look intensively at the person who opened the door, the shoe came into sight before the body. And the person was…
Madman?
She let out a small laugh. "I don't know why they kidnapped you, but there's nothing valuable about you. You should as well tell the kidnapper that." She said to Forsyth, who had just walked into the room.
With no emotion on his face, he glared at Sean. Seeing how hard Sean was trying to hide his laughter, he knew he had done something mischievous.
"You can go now, Sean." Forsyth ignored Mildred and said to Sean. Without further delay, Sean stood up and went for the door.
"Wait…" she stopped Sean, "Where are you going?" She sounded worried, which confused Forsyth.
"To my room," Sean replied truthfully.
"Oh, to your…wait… room?" She gaped. "You have a room here? Like..like your house, you live here?" She asked, stunned.
"Yes, yes, and yes," Sean replied smiling. "And oh, Forsyth is my older brother, and he isn't mad, just abnormal sometimes." He quickly ducked and ran out of the room before Forsyth caught him.
Mildred suddenly regretted telling Sean about a madman named Forsyth.
"And look who has finally regained consciousness," Forsyth announced before trailing closer to Mildred.
"What did you do to me?" She asked angrily. Now everything was clear to her. Forsyth did all this kidnapping stuff to get back at her for calling him a madman.
As if reading what was going on inside her head Forsyth shook his head. Explaining to her was a complete waste of time, especially when her mind is already set on what to believe.
"Simon will be here in a few minutes to get you, you are going to Magnus's Mansion." He reported to her calmly. He had no expression on his face. He so much wanted to snap off her neck and keep her to himself at the same time. He truly was sick in the brain.
"Oh my Goodness! Mr. Cian, he must be so worried by now." She panicked.
"I bet he wasn't." Forsyth sneered and scoffed. He turned around and sent a maid into the room to get her ready.
He needed to be set for his upcoming task.
To find the books of Goratar. And destroy them.
