章 10: Metamorphosis
Alice woke up from her deep slumber and slowly walked towards the bathroom. Her whole body was aching with some unknown pain as if she just punched hundreds of gigantic ice slabs. She slowly opened her mouth and put the brush inside her mouth and slowly brushed her teeth. She looked at the mirror and saw that her whole body was looking different. Her biceps were a lot more buffed and her thighs were quite strong. She pulled up her shirt and saw that her abs have become more defined and full of muscles. She stretched her cheek and said, "It is not a dream. But how did I changed all of a sudden?" Aliyah appeared and said, "Because we had a very tiring exercise session last night. Anyway, don't get too excited, my dear Alice. You still need to learn how to use your power accordingly."
Alice asked, "What do you mean by that?" Aliyah smiled, "Nothing, Alice. Just get ready for college. I'm pretty much sure that you are going to have an awesome day ahead." Alice touched her abs and asked, "Why there are scars on my chest? Like someone stabbed me multiple times with sharp knives?" Aliyah said, "Plain rubbish. Won't you be dead if someone had stabbed you multiple times with knives? Now, go and take a bath. Sweat and blood has made your body odor unbearable." Alice asked, "Blood?" Aliyah said, "Nothing just a figure of speech." Alice went inside the bathroom and started to shower. Aliyah slowly peeped inside and sighed in relief, "Thank Lord Blood. She didn't get too much scars or else I would have died answering her questions." Aliyah took out an apple and took a bite. Alice came outside and saw Aliyah was floating in the air, munching apple. Alice asked, "Will you just stay here, shameless woman? Give me some privacy." Aliyah smiled and went away. Alice threw her towel aside and looked at the mirror. She touched her whole body and can feel and hear her heartbeat and the flow of blood through her nerves, the sound of water dropping on the tub, the chirping of birds and also the sound of Aliyah munching pieces of apple between her teeth. Alice sniffed and could smell the sweet smell of Kevin's cakes and sweets and could also see him dancing on the ground hearing to music on his headphones. Alice looked at her and said, "I don't know what has happen to me all of a sudden, but I have never felt so much alive ever before." She took her bag and went outside. Aliyah looked at her and said, "I think you should go to the college by foot."
Alice said, "Are you nuts, Aliyah? My college is miles away and I'm already quite delayed." Aliyah said, "Trust me, Alice. You won't regret my advice." Alice smiled, "No. Thanks for your prehistoric advice. But, I would like to use modern technology." Aliyah moved her hand and all the tyres simultaneously got punctured. Alice looked at her and asked angrily, "What type of atrocious behavior is this, Aliyah?" Aliyah smiled, "Your 'modern technology' couldn't handle my 'prehistoric' magic. How can it be my fault?" Alice controlled her anger and said, "Fine." She tightly laced her shoes and started running towards the college and in a couple of seconds, she was before the gate of her college. Alice looked at Aliyah and said, "I just traveled two kilometers in two seconds and I'm not even a little tired. How did it happened?" Aliyah smiled, "There are far more wonderful surprises waiting for you." Alice smiled and went inside the college. Aliyah looked at her and said, "But, the only problem is that you won't like every suprise."
Alice entered the classroom and saw that there was no one there. She mumbled puzzled and then remembered that it was Sunday and she forgot that today, there will be a charity judo match between the girls of the college. She looked around and saw that most of the girls were either in the indoor stadium or practicing judo. Alice felt a hand on her shoulder and she turned and saw Elena and Trisha standing there in judo attire. Alice said, puzzled, "I didn't know that my two besties were interested in judo." Elena said, "What are you saying, Alice? Don't you know that Sara Regal is coming to see the match and whoever wins the tournament will get a signed t-shirt and a chance to earn a ticket for her upcoming match at Texas next week." Alice asked, "Sara Regal? Who is she?"
Elena and Trisha looked at each other and then looked at Alice. Trisha said, "Sara Regal. Judo queen. She has earned so many medals for our country and also has inspired many young girls to pursue a career in fighting and prove that they are not inferior to men." Alice said, "Well, good. But, still why are you two dressed in judo attire?" Elena giggled, "To fight in the tournament, silly." Alice asked, suprised, "You two have participated and haven't told me a single thing. Why?" Trisha replied, "It was all of a sudden and also we know that you will not participate anyway." Alice said, "Actually, you are right. I don't like violence and tries my best to refrain from it." Trisha looked at Alice and said, "You look quite ripped all of a sudden. Are you secretly training your body?" Alice smiled, "No. It's just that I got a little skinny so my abs started to flash." Elena smiled, "It will be a shame wasting your body strength by sitting in the audience. Why don't you join the tournament? I think there are still some spots empty." Alice looked around and saw that most of the girls she is familiar with are in judo attire and amongst those faces was one more familiar and angry face, Cindy. Cindy looked at her and smiled. She gave her a thumbs down and moved her right thumb across her neck, showing that she will kill her if she fights her.
Alice said, "Okay. I can give it a try." Elena smiled, "Bravo. You can use my spare judo attire." Alice changed her clothes and came outside and then the refree gave her a number and said, "When I call your number, you will come on the stage and pick a number and then you will fight the person who has that number." Alice nodded and stood in a queue, waiting to be called on stage. After a brief period of time, the referee called her number and she went on the stage and the referee said, "Pick a number between 001 and 099, excluding your number." Alice looked around and then said, "I choose the number 056." The referee called out the number and a young girl came forward and shaked hands with Alice. Alice looked at her carefully and mumbled, "Oh, fuck. She is Isabella Shepherd, daughter of Principal Shepherd. She is so skinny and also doesn't look like she could have defeated me in my previous physique too."
The referee blew his whistle to silence the roaring audience and said, "I'm Allen McCain and I vow to be an impartial referee for the match. The rules are simple, the first person to fall will lose a point and the person with the most falls at the end of ten minutes will be declared the losing participant. For the safety of the participants, we will use thick mattresses instead of hard mat and locks and submissions are not allowed. Any kind of dirty fighting like pulling hair, poking in the eyes, hitting on the private parts and spitting will lead to disqualification, so kindly refrain from such malpractices. Wishing both the participants luck, we will start the fight in three minutes. Both of you get ready." Alice and Isabella went towards their respective corners and started preparing themselves for the fight.
Alice looked at Isabella, who was talking with Cindy. Elena looked at them and said, "Isabella and Cindy are a team. She will certainly try to hurt you for the insult you did to their parents." Alice looked at Elena and smiled, "Don't worry, mate. I know how to keep myself up." Alice and Isabella went towards the middle and shaked hands and bowed. Allen looked at his watch and said, "Fight." Isabella tried to caught Alice in a submission, but Alice quickly reacted and threw her on the mattress. Isabella rolled and rose up and then ran towards her, but Alice again threw her and this time, Isabella injured her shoulder. Allen went near Isabella and then blew his whistle and said, "Alice has been declared winner of the round."
Two girls took Isabella outside of the ring and Alice went near her seat. Elena hugged her and said, "Damn, girl. You threw her like pillows. I didn't know you were so strong." Trisha said, "Now, Principal Shepherd will surely try to harm you." Elena said, "Shut up, Trisha. She has just done so brilliant and instead of congratulating her, you are scaring her." Alice said, "Trisha, now it's your turn." Trisha went upstairs and choosed a number. After sometime, she managed to secure a win by remembering her training. Elena said, "She surely does know how to survive." Alice said, "It's your turn now. Go and show what you have got." Elena smiled and went on the stage and choosed a number. After sometime, she lost by a fair margin and was even got her leg sprained. Alice looked at Elena and said, "Don't worry, I will win the match for you." Elena smiled and the girls took her away. After almost two hours of vigorous fighting, only four participants remained, Alice, Cindy, Trisha and Victoria. Alice went on the stage and picked a number from the bowl. It was Trisha. Trisha and Alice looked at each other and smiled. They took their positions and bowed. After, Allen blowed the whistle, Trisha spinned her leg around Alice's leg and tried to make her fall, but Alice smartly spinned and threw her on the mattress. Trisha smiled and rose and then caught Alice by the collar and tried to threw her, but she couldn't throw her. Alice touched her hands and then pushed her away and took her by the shoulder and threw her on the mattress.
Allen blowed the whistle and declared Alice the winner. Trisha sighed and went outside the ring. The last match was between Alice and Cindy. Cindy looked at Alice and smiled, "Leave now, Alice. You won't be able to withstand my beating." Alice smiled, "Speak for yourself, girl. Today is my lucky day." Cindy smiled, "Yes, lucky day to lose."
Alice and Cindy took their positions and bowed. Allen McCain said, "Our guest of the day, Sara Regal has arrived and she insisted that she will referee this match." Allen quietly went down and a woman in her early thirties came inside the ring. Alice and Cindy shaked hands with her and also the enormous crowd cheering made the whole atmosphere lively. Sara looked at them and said, "I will take to congratulate both of you for coming up on the top. Judo is a game of empty hands and grappling and throwing, so I will allow grappling and submission in the match." Alice and Cindy looked at Sara, who blew the whistle and both of them started fighting. Cindy caught Alice by her neck and tried to choke her, but Alice rolled and threw her on the mattress and then caught her in an anaconda vice. Cindy kicked on her head with her leg and then rolled and did a 540 kick on Alice.
Alice fell on the ground and then Cindy jumped on her back. Allen said, "They are not doing Judo, but nasty street fighting." Sara said, "Let the girls fight." Cindy was about to stomp, but Alice rolled and kicked on her ankle, then kicked on her left thigh and finally a swan kick on Cindy's temple. Principal Shepherd cried, "Enough of this bullshit, Sara. We cannot allow such barbaric behavior inside our college campus." Principal Shepherd stopped the event and told everyone to go to their respective homes and take some rest as she has declared tomorrow to be a holiday. Ryder and Trisha took Alice to her home and soon left away. Alice closed her eyes and soon fell asleep as the scars on her body slowly started to heal and eventually faded away....
