"Spouse?" Wolfe frowned. 

Chuan Ling nodded. "Every Pope was considered the closest to the God Dog's side. They were it's most beloved. They serve as the speaker for their Divine Husband, though the God Dog also can change gender."

"The current Pope just decreed that it was a 'he' now. We just honor his wishes." She added. 

They thought about how really appealing this cult was to LGBTQ+ individuals. Not only do they have a fluid god, but unions between any gender of Pope to any gender of God Dog as decided by that Poper were glorified. 

It fits their whole idea of complete freedom from the traditional society. But wheta Leon wondered more…
