章 144: Rafts drifting in the sea

For a few seconds, Ivo had no reaction. He stood still as Davi's lips moved against his. It was only when Davi was pulling away from him that he wrapped his arms around his neck and returned the kiss.

His relief was so deep and overwhelming that his knees went weak. Laughter bubbled from him with each nip of Davi's teeth on his bottom lip.

And when they separated Ivo felt the muscles of his face ache from smiling. 

"I was so afraid things would change..." he chuckled, and ran a shaking hand through his hair. "I feel like I'm coming out of a weeks long nightmare."

"That was a hell of your own making." Although Davi's tone was serious, the hands with which he touched Ivo's cheek were gentle. "No one gets through life alone. It's impossible. At some point you have to accept the vulnerability of trusting the people around you."
