The office still looked deserted. There was only her and one of her co-workers who always diligently arrived early. They met in the pantry, to make milk coffee to clear each other's eyes.
At first, they were silent. Becca didn't want to try to talk either. Only the clinking of the spoon in the cup filled the pantry's silence.
"Did you break up with him?" asked her co-worker.
"How do you know?" Becca asked.
They spoke without looking at each other. Becca sipped her milk coffee while waiting for her coworker's answer.
"You used to look normal together, but suddenly not. That's what I see."
He was a friend of Tommy's who was in the finance department of Tommy's company. He was also Tommy's confidant. His name is Drake, a guy who had a secret crush on Becca.
Becca sighed after hearing Drake's answer. "Well, you're right."
"And your appearance has changed. You know Tommy doesn't like seeing you in sexy clothes, right?"
Her head nodded again. But she didn't make the slightest effort to explain to Drake. According to her, it would be better if she was more silent. Moreover, what she knew was that Drake was the spy Tommy had sent to spy on her.
"And you know you need to change your look, Bec," said Drake.
"What's freedom if it's not used, Drake. I'm glad I at least made myself happy by changing my appearance."
Drake, the man who understood Becca's feelings, couldn't help but remain silent. Of course, he knew about Tommy's affair with Paige. Even though it was only for sex, but he was sure that any girl, didn't want to be betrayed in that way or in any way.
"I'll go back to my desk," Becca said goodbye.
When Becca came out of the pantry, she stopped when she saw Tommy staring at her. But a moment later she continued her steps again, passing her ex-boyfriend while carrying her coffee cup.
And Tommy didn't even turn to look at her. The appearance has changed drastically, was eccentric, and attracted people's attention. He felt like he wanted to scold Becca for changing her clothes, but he had no right anymore.
"That's your fault," said Drake, patting him on the shoulder from behind.
"How could it be my fault?"
"Your eyes can't lie to me, Tom. Maybe she knows too. You look like a man who's sorry he cheated on his girlfriend," Drake replied.
Tommy cleared his throat and coughed a little. He turned to look at his friend seriously. "Regret? I'm not sorry."
"You still don't want to admit it. Sometimes it's okay to show your emotions, Tom."
"Fuck you, Drake."
"You know, I don't see any flaws in Becca. Even when compared to Paige, Becca is more than anything. You must admit it in your heart, right?"
Unable to answer and confess, Tommy chose to leave with a chuckle, leaving Drake. He passed Becca's desk and she didn't even look at him. Then he went into his office room annoyed.
And she didn't know how many times she sighed when she heard Tommy slam the door pretty hard. She knew that her change might upset Tommy and maybe ... regret it.

It rained so hard all of a sudden as Becca made her way to where the taxi was parked. She was taken aback and paused for a moment. She hoped that some taxi drivers would look at her and head towards her immediately so she wouldn't have to approach the taxi.
But either luck or not, Tommy's car stopped in front of her. She took out an umbrella and covered Becca.
"Come in!" cried Tommy shouting because the sound of the rain was so domineering.
But Becca shook her head, dismissing him. And finally, Tommy grabbed her hand and pushed her into the car.
Without talking to Becca, he immediately drove his car out of the office. Becca immediately grabbed the towel that was always ready on the dashboard of the car and dried some of her wet body.
"You don't have to avoid me like that," said Tommy, starting to speak.
"I'm not avoiding you."
And Tommy knew what it was like when Becca lied. She did not look at her interlocutor. But he didn't want to explain.
"What if you get sick? You're allergic to cold rain, Rebecca!" cried Tommy.
"That's none of your business anymore, Tom."
Tommy was silent. It was no wonder Becca was back to being her old self when she wasn't dating him yet. So stubborn and downright haughty.
"We buy clothes to change our wet clothes," said Tommy.
"Why don't we just go home? What's the difference?"
But Tommy chose not to answer Becca's question. He kept his ex-girlfriend busy with questions he didn't answer.
And Becca was upset because of Tommy's habit of always wasting money just to buy new clothes to change their wet clothes from the rain.
It was what Becca didn't like about Tommy, that he was always free to do whatever he wanted as long as his money kept growing and growing.
"You're just wasting money, Tom," Becca said later.
"Money can be found. But comfort is not."
Tommy's answer was always the same. And Becca knew that every time the same answer came out of Tommy's mouth, it meant he was being honest.
When the car was parked, Becca was still in the car seat. She was reluctant to get out of the car because she didn't want to buy anything new. If Tommy wanted, they could go home soon.
Suddenly Tommy's phone rang just as he was about to tell Becca to get out. Becca glanced and saw Paige's name appear on the screen of his phone. She sighed and leaned back in a lazy position.
"Just pick up the call," Jade said without looking at him.
"She must have been waiting for you last night and you didn't tell her yet."
Tommy's jaw tightened. He immediately answered the call from Paige and spoke in front of Becca.
Her heart felt hot and burning with jealousy. But Becca had a strong defense.
"I'm with Becca, Paige. What's wrong?"
And how could Tommy honestly say that he was with her with his mistress, her best friend? Becca didn't think so at all.
