章 3: Chapter 3 - THE BEST REVENGE

Hearing it, made Tommy want to argue. But he knew that what Becca said was true. They were nothing more than just living together.

He sighed and closed the door. Then Tommy started getting dressed and getting ready. But in the middle of getting ready, he suddenly thought of something.

"Regarding the mattress... are we going to share a bed or?"

"I'll sleep in the living room," Becca answered immediately.

Tommy shook his head quickly. "Are you crazy? I won't let a girl sleep in the living room while I'm on the bed, Becca!"

But Becca didn't care. The more she tried not to care, the better it was for her to move on to forget about him and throw away her feelings.

Without looking back, Becca went straight into the bathroom. She turned on the shower and the water-soaked her body.

She came out with a towel wrapped around her chest below. She then came out of the bathroom and was surprised that Tommy had not left the apartment.

But Becca chose to remain silent. She had promised to reduce communication between them. In fact, she was also adamant to herself that she would only speak if necessary.

"Where have you been? Why are you home so late?" asked Tommy curiously, testing her, to be honest with him.

"Everywhere that makes me forget that I've just been betrayed. You saw me from the salon, Tom."

Tommy shook his head. "I mean before the salon."

Becca didn't answer. She was just silent as she put on her skincare. She combed her hair then she grabbed a nightgown and prepared to rest.

"Tomorrow you don't forget that we have a meeting, right?" asked Tommy.

"No, sir. I won't forget about that."

It was obvious that Becca was completely avoiding him. She even acted cold and didn't show how hurt she was. And her attitude frustrated Tommy.

He was the one who betrayed, the one who agreed to break up too, but instead, he himself was feeling stressed. Moreover, only a few hours after they broke up, Tommy had already been shown the new appearance of his girlfriend.

Becca came out with her bed cover and pillow. She started to lay down on the sofa in the living room.

"Rebecca..." Tommy called firmly.

"Stop talking, Tom. I'm tired. We have work tomorrow and I don't want to sleep late anymore. You'd better go to sleep too. Good night!"

Becca began to close her eyes. She didn't care if Tommy was still there. Though Tommy was watching her with a sigh.

He chose to stand and not say goodnight from her back. And he canceled his desire to go to Paige's apartment because he couldn't enjoy anything with this mess.

He entered the room and left the door open. He lay on the bed and he looked to his side where only emptiness he saw. The absence of Becca was enough to make him feel what it was like to be miserable even though it had only been a few hours.

"You'll get through it, Tom. You just have to deal with it," he said as supporting himself.

The smell of black coffee wafted into Tommy's nose, waking him from his slumber. He got up and looked to his side. He thought breaking up with Becca was just a dream for him, but it wasn't.

He shook his head and then got up from the bed and left the room. He saw Becca cooking something in the kitchen and he didn't want to disturb her.

Even though they had broken up, Becca couldn't help but cook something for the two of them. Moreover, eating is a must in life. So she cooked for him and for Tommy, as usual.

She showered after cooking and then got ready to go to work. She wore clothes that looked quite eye-catching and all she did was for revenge elegantly.

"Good morning, Tommy," Becca greeted as usual.

"Good... morning," replied Tommy, sounding surprised when he saw Jade's appearance. "You're going to the office in that semi-miniskirt?" asked Tommy.

"Why not?"

"Becca ... you'll attract people's attention. Including the men."

"That's great, isn't it? I'll have potential boyfriends."

Tommy was annoyed to hear Becca's answer. It turned out that their breakup made Becca change slowly. For some reason, he was afraid of her words.

But Tommy couldn't stop her anymore. Because Becca would always answer in a way that showed that she didn't want to be banned.

"Oh, I have to leave early. I ordered a taxi online. See you, Tom!"

Before Tommy had time to answer, Becca had already left in a hurry. And again, his appetite disappeared. He took a shower and headed straight for the office. Even if he could, he would go after her.

Becca sighed as she climbed into her online taxi. Her heart was pounding as she managed to cool off with the changes she had planned.

"I'm sorry, Tom. You hurt me so much and I need to change myself to be strong and prove that I'm not who you say I am," she whispered to herself.

"Excuse, Miss... are you talking to me?" asked the online taxi driver, looking at her from the mirror.

"Oh... No, I don't. I'm sorry if it bothered you."

"Forgive my impudence, Miss ... but you look sad. Was my guess right?" asked the driver politely.

Becca swallowed. She thought, did she look that sad in front of a stranger she didn't even know?

"Yeah, you're right."

"I've heard the wise advice, Miss. If you want to hear, I'll tell you."

"Say it."

"Hmm... you can be sad about your bad problems, but don't let your sadness rule your day. Especially if you turn out to be a moody person. Something in life is balanced, so balance your emotional feelings. For example, if you are sad now, then later you have to feel happy."

Becca was touched. She smiled at the wise advice. Even her tears fell. She did not know if there was a stranger who was so kind as to motivate her.

"Thanks for your wise advice. I am very motivated to carry out my plans."

"If I may ask, what is your plan, Miss?" asked the driver.

"A revenge in a good way."
