Nana said that she would wait for me at the apartment before she left. She wanted to make sure that the deal was sealed, before going. Besides I found out that Papaw was feeling rather lonely and missing her, rather than he was physically sick.

"Nana," I smiled as I reached the apartment and she was sitting there with her bags packed and ready to go back home. Claire said that she could sleep in her room. Gail spoke to her and told her the good news that I'd be out before she got back.

She didn't say that I could sleep in her room, just Nana for a few days. I wondered for a split second if we could ever be friends. I'd seemed to annoy her a lot more than I realized or maybe she didn't like me.

Who knew?

"Why do you look like that dear? You didn't get the contract?"

I waved it in her face, "I did, and everything looks good. Or so it seems. I skimmed it a bit in the subway."

She took my hand, "So, why do you look so sad?"
