章 40: CHAPTER 40 Mutual Benefits

　　My father and I returned to his room together, and he offered me a drink. Something he hadn't done in over two years because I was counting. This whole king thing had gotten into his head so much, that he had forgotten how to be a father and an Alpha.

　　From his behaviour, I realised that my guess was correct and he was madly in love with Margret. Unfortunately for him, he couldn't have her because of his laws and the things he had done to make sure his laws were upheld. It was sickening. The woman didn't love him though, but they seemed like second chance mates to each other. The moon goddess knew how to put the joke on her children, especially those that chose to tow a dangerous line like my father.

　　He offered me a seat and took a sip of his drink.

　　"I will have her released, just don't hurt Maggie," he said with red, teary eyes.

　　"You are unbelievable, father," I said, and he pinched the bridge of his nose and bowed his head in shame.
