The sound of crickets and the howls of the sea wind echoed within the depleted cottage. Moonlit sheen escaped the barriers of the cottage, seeping its glittering glory on the wooden floor every meter or two.

The thumping of their heartbeat or the steady intake of air did not go unnoticed by the incoming uninvited visitor—or so they thought.
