"One more thing," I said, and Tallia looked up at me. "I need you to promise me that no matter what happens, you will stay safe. No matter if I tell you something, you will listen to me explicitly."

"I promise," Tallia said as she hugged me tightly. "But do not forget your own promise."

"And what is that?" I asked with a raised eyebrow as the light grew even brighter now and began taking on a distinct shape. It looked like something was pushing through the seal now.

"What happened last time we were here," Tallia said sternly, and I grit my teeth in frustration. "You promised not to let anyone die because of your choices." She looked up at me with serious eyes then, and it made my heart skip a beat when she spoke again softly, "And please do not die because of mine either."
