"Ashton…." Phoenix shook her head, "please forget about it. I don't want to have anything to do with them again. Besides, I don't know anything about them. I was just a test subject for them," Phoenix's eyes were begging for Ashton to not ask about it.
"When I fell from the cliff into the ocean, I was considered a failure and dead. They won't even try to fish me out of the sea or find my dead body. I had seen it before how they treated their test subjects. It was a blessing that the Huyabid tribe members found me and brought me to Melrose," Phoenix rolled herself from Ashton's chest to his side, and lay back to look up at the glow in the dark shooting star on the ceiling.
She had seen a shooting star one day and wished to get out of that hellhole where she grew up.
Did she believe it was true or not? She doesn't care, but now that she was living a normal life, she wanted to preserve this life.
