Honestly, I've never read such a nationalistic novel in my life, and I'm not talking about chapter 1, because for me that's normal in a novel written by a Chinese author. My problem with this novel starts when the author decides to turn a novel about blacksmithing into a novel about cultivation after not mentioning cultivation for over 300 chapters, but even that's not a problem, it's more of the author's stupidity, but mehh, after reading novels that's what I expect at some point in the plot. When you get to chapter 420~, the story turns into nationality for the win, where the MC decides to make a Life Potion and restricts its use to Chinese only, without taking into account that the plot of the story is that the world is being invaded by alien beings. For me, I can read novels about nationalism and if the plot makes sense I might like them, but there are limits to everything and this one went from a 3.5 to a 1, it's a shame that i can't give a 0 in story development.

Well it is your typical feel good novel. Good enough if you dont have anything. Sadly its incredible flawed. Its talking about myriad races that invaded and cultivator. Blacksmith are responsible for creating "divine weapons" so they can somehow help "cultivators" cultivate. Its super shallow and not much thought has gone in. The world building is even worse. Not only is it full of logic holes but the author doesn't even make the attempt to provide a decent overview. The development is supposedly different from "earth" since the myriad races invaded 200 years ago. So somewhere around 1800s. They still arrived at cellphones TVs, even the ISS later in the story. Really weird does is get after 400 chapters. The competition should have taken place around 1 years after his graduation. After that it becomes incredible confusing how much time has passed. His sister does her phd somehow when she was 13-14y before. He suddenly has a friend called Phantom Wolf who should be lonely wolf from earlier. But he mentioned he is only 10 years older than the MC (and he is 50). Suddenly he has a GF? Dont bother if you can find something more decent.
It's a pity that an okay grammatically written story has little to no entertainment value. It is generic Gary Stu plot armor without the satire to keep it fresh.
Well, this novel was quite disappointing. The overall idea was mediocre, nothing too different from the usual, but it's so slow in the beginning and fast afterward, full of Chinese clichés. Reading the first 430 chapters one by one, you might not notice it as much, but if you look at the big picture, it's a complete waste of time! The protagonist is so one-dimensional... that's why I'm now reading about villains and slice of life; I'm tired of these clichés. Don't waste your time on this like I did with mine.
well the story was fine until 450chs, everything is about blacksmithing, but after that everything is about technology there was no blacksmithing, and weirdly M.C used to have a sister, but M.C's sister disappears, i mean it felt like, there was some time skip/missing chapters/ or author abounded the blacksmithing part and started to make a fresh arc, kind feels confusing.
I actually liked it for the first few hundred chapters. You shouldn’t expect super high quality, it is still a Chinese story, but the premise and writing was decent without too much of the normal cliches. The problem with it is after around ch 400 the story goes off the rails. Time doesn’t work right, about 10 years pass in what is written as a few days. It seems like there’s a few hundred missing chapters, but the basic plot continues like there wasn’t a skip so it’s just bad writing. The main things I liked about the story are dropped and it goes from forging to bioengineering and off-brand pacific rim
It’s alright but it is extremely annoying how time after time mc proves he’s an extremely competent smith that it is better than all of his peers and yet everyone looks down on him. He made a divine weapon, and from the sounds of it one of the most well rounded ones, and that achievement alone puts him ahead of 99% of smiths who will never be able to do the same and he did it as a graduation test. It makes zero sense

Novel takes a sharp turn at around chapter 400 into heavy Chinese nationalism, not a thinly veiled one either. I could get behind that more if not for this, overt change at that point.
It wasn’t bad that what I thought then after chapter 40 translation going bad to worse, sure I had no problem with that but cn bs come in after chapter 400

There is time skip around chapter 400. Without any explanation. From that point there isn’t any meaning in reading it. The story is fine as long as you don't think too much. If you do start thinking though, there are so many dumb stuff over the first 430 chapters and after the 430 chapters. Just to note, the whole story completely changes after the first 430 chapters.A notable mention pre-430 chapters:- Mentions having 2 8 star blacksmiths and then mentions 7 stars being the limit in the span of like 10 chapters (7 star being the limit was after)- A random cultivator ascending to an higher world doesn't make any sense in the context since we never really see anyone above 7 stars even though 8 and 9 stars seems to be mentionned and the highest ranked people are only at 7 stars.About the post 430 chapter mark. Everything about the story just changes. The translation quality drastically drops, "china #1" kind of behavior appears (MC literally makes a drug which extends lifespan only for Chinese people because it "costs less points", which doesn't even make sense since that's more of an extra feature than a removal of a feature for it to cost more). The whole forging system doesn't exist anymore, I'm not even sure magic still exists anymore since it's never mentioned ever after. The whole star ranking system completely disappears, there are no more ranks, there are no more cultivators. The whole research and development system literally takes the MC days to develop a world changing thing. Oh, also, the MC got a girlfriend sometimes during the story apparently although it was never mentionned. The MC also apparently went from being a 20-21 year old to something like a 36-37 year old man according to his own lifespan extending drug, that age change just happened magically. In short: this story started average and it became complete trash after 430 chapters, not even making any sense anymore.
The story is good through the first 427 chapters at keeping things consistant and interesting. However, between 428 to 431, the entire world background and style changes as well as his age with no real transition. From 432 on it is like a different story with the same MC. While the second story is a little interesting I am dropping it after 550 because it is not what I want to read right now and because of the huge changes. This is also why I give it a 1 star for World Building, inconsistancy in the background.
The author is on crack ! Every chapter he changes things ! He doesn’t even remember his own writing he keeps forgetting everything ! Even the gender of the characters seems to change in next chapter, even on changes gender in the same chapter too ! He’s full on crack

Interesting concept I thought it will be a marvel / Norse myth rip off but a totally different world setting. But the progress of story is disappointing. Transmigrated to a body who died because of his obsession with creating a weapon far above his ability. The new MC is not any better. Despite his OP ability he is a slave to the Chinese military system. He barely visits or checks up on his family and basically no lovelife. His love interest in the academy was created to introduce an antagonistic richboy classmate. No contact after graduation until a half year later where they met up in the reunion. Constantly mocked by jealous classmates until he showed his military credentials. Just a simple good bye then no more mention of her. Accepts any arrangement by the military and graciously receives rewards given by his superiors as if he was undeserving despite his achievements. Unexplained time skip in chap 431 suddenly he is in his late 30s his parents are now old and been stringing along a 30 year old girlfriend for 10 years. Basically a boring MC.
I can't ready past chapter 20s. There are minor plotholes but the nail in the coffin is a certain local affluent family led by a general/governor of a city's local army is trying to shutdown a pavilion that has branches across the kingdoms? There's no way an army leader would be that stupid.

Very well written and engaging. One of those novels that you can't put down because it's too interesting. I would still recommend this novel even though I have dropped it, just stop at the 400's. 2 major reasons for dropping: 1) It started to become like a DBZ show where at the end of each chapter was a cliffhanger. On top of that, a single mini arc would last at least 10 chapters. The MC would start creating his project for the contest...10 chapters later he finally finishes it and now another 10 chapters of face slapping. 2) The most biggest gripe I have about this novel starts around chapter 450 or so. The author started to turn this novel into a Chinese propaganda statement. So disheartening to see such a good concept for a novel turn into a political agenda. Like I said, I'd still recommend this novel, but stop around chapter 400 or so. Verdict: Dropped.

Just another delusional Mainland Chinese writer tooting their own nationalistic pride with fanciful unrealistic creations of nonsense. If you really must, then read only the 1st arc, anything after is just hot garbage! You've been warned!!

This novel starts out interesting, transmigration, spiritual power replacing technological power, aliens attacking the planet. But after awhile, it reads like propaganda written by a political officer. By the time it hits 400 chapters, nationalism and racism makes it's appearance. The plot skips all over the place; forging is no longer as important as showing national power. The story becomes a total mess. For a world that was united against alien invaders in the first chapters, the enemy went from aliens to foreign races.
the story started or interesting, but quickly developed into a mess. the author uses lots of filler to get to his word count, then adds new important story information, forgets what he wrote 50-100 chapters before, and thus contradicts himself. characters are introduced, forgotten, and sometimes reintroduced with the author just saying they were there the whole time. the whole forging aspect is thrown out of the window around chapter 400 (it might be reintroduced, but I have not read that far). I don't mind the china-is-superior writing style, that a lot of the Chinese authors have, but this author is quite extreme with it, while not being able to put it in a nice package (writing wise). I've read up to chapter 444 so far, and the story went from "sounds interesting" to "this is stupid, why am I still reading this". I hope it gets better again, but I doubt it, looking at the authors ability so far
This Webnovel is fairly boring? If you are waiting for other Webnovels to update and you don’t feel like trying to read something with action or romance this is for you. There’s maybe as much action and romance is there is in offbrand flavored sparkling water.
I can overlook china # 1 and maybe some cliche young master because admit it, they are spoiled. However, if young master's father is involved and instantly believes his son's lies like some gullible kid, it makes you wonder how did these morons a obtain their status, and kept their power for generations. 32 chapters and we get an MC with OP system PLUS some random plots that miraculously added to MC's advantage.
