章 251: *Ch 266: Rescued In Time
Jack slightly smiled to watch his son bite down on his flesh. Ian drank his father's blood like his life depended on it. Being nearly detained, he pretty much did. Strength was returned, and he opened his eyes to stare at his dad. Jack's features were similar to his.
Only his face was more diamond-shaped, and his eyes were deep with a darker hazelnut color. Ian observed they looked so much alike as he drank.
Then his eyes crossed to the right to notice a bloodbath around them. Limbs were being torn into the bone. Flesh was getting mauled as these vampires fought. Teeth snapped and barked from the wolves. Fangs hissed stridently across the field with the non-shapeshifter vampires. Bones crunched and crushed underneath the jaws of those bears.
Suddenly a rolling head grabbed Ian's awareness toward his left. His eyes gaped shockingly to watch the vampire his dad had decapitated was retrieving his head back like a magnetic pull. Never in his life would he ever imagine witnessing a head reattaching itself to its own body.
Jack ripped his wrist from his mouth as his component arose on two sturdy feet. Anger streaked through his eyes toward Jack as he also stood from the ground beside Ian.
"You take my head off again, and I'll take it out on Sharlene!" he hissed.
Jack growled, "You touch her, consider yourself dead!"
"Such a shame, I'm immortal," he mocked.
"Too bad." Jack riposted to denigrate him. "Otherwise, I'd use your head for a basketball to practice my shots before it rotted."
Now this insult, and Jack's sneer only made the vampire more furious, so he charged.
Still, on the ground, Ian watched as his dad goes head-on with this vampire. They collide like buffalos striking their horns into each other. Only they rip and bite deep wounds on their bodies. Claws dig into their nicely dressed formal clothes. Ian watched his dad effortlessly throw the vampire toward the woods. The vampire rolled on all fours before he hopped up and launched at Jack again. Coming in from the side, Ian saw another mean-looking vampire wearing a sumptuous gothic-style suit. He comes along, knocking his dad's attacker off his feet.
Four sharp fangs extend widely from this perilous creature. His skin was like sooty cobwebs, and his face appeared demoniac. Ian felt timid by this vampire the most. More so when he watched the attacker curl his body from experiencing such agonizing pain. He cried so hard that his eyes bled thick amounts of blood. Darker black blood started to spew from his nose.
Firsthand, Ian witnessed the dominance of this one vampire had everyone else stopping in mid-battle.
Once everyone's attention was drawn to a standstill, Kai released the vampire under his most powerful gift. Although he left that vampire bleeding from his eyes and nose while he held his stomach in agony as he groaned.
All the shapeshifters unfold into their natural human-like shape. Kai noted everyone was healing flawlessly. Their torn flesh and limbs were repaired like they weren't just previously fighting. Only their blood was stained on the grassy blades, and their clothes may have been ruffled or torn at the seam on their arms. Otherwise, they were good without the need for a breath.
"You have some gall to think I'd let you harm Sharlene or Ian!" Kai gnashed at the vampire he had under his powerful gift.
Now hearing his voice, Ian realized this far more superior vampire had to be his father's alpha, which would explain why he felt a submissive pull to respect this alpha.
"It's interesting to see you have awakened," the attacking Alpha remarked behind Kai.
"You have some guts to pull something this foolish, Tyler!" Kai veered his way, snarling.
"It's a free game," Tyler replies with a flippant sneer. "Human-raised offspring have always been free game."
"Watch it!" Blake warned, keeping his daughter Lily behind him. "That's my daughter you're talking about. You would've made her a breeder!"
"It's natural," Tyler retorted without taking his eyes off Kai. "Vampiresses love to be mothers even if it's by force."
Blake glared carefully at him, but he kept himself from charging as he felt Lily's tiny frame cuddling into his spine. Unfortunately, he wasn't any match against Tyler because he was an alpha.
"You best watch your tongue, or I'll gladly chew it off!" Alpha Levi growled his fangs beside Blake, standing up for him.
"It's time for you to leave with your clan," Kai exhorted, yet somehow he seethed his acrimony.
However, Tyler wasn't done yet after hearing Kai's urge. "After the vote, I can't wait to get acquainted with your mate. I thought she had a rather beautiful long neck at the ball. For a human, she's quite enchanting. I almost couldn't resist myself from her," he taunts.
"You touch her, you are a goner!" Kai hissed, "I will detain you!"
"Keep in mind if you harm Kai's mate, you'll make war with us too," Mitchell warned from behind Tyler.
Unfazed, Tyler laughed with his clan before they each wither into the wind that swept in. "Until next time," he whispered like a breeze.
Almost everyone exhaled an exhausted mental breath while they each looked at one another in relief.
"How could that one vampire sound like you?" Lily's gentle voice turned heads her way when she asked from behind her dad.
Blake turned, facing her while everyone else eyed the tiny short vampiress as he explained. "He's a chameleon. Chameleons can change their appearance and disguise their voices to sound like someone else."
Lily nodded as Levi heartedly smiled at her. Compared to them being six feet tall, she was nearly five two or three feet in height. And she looked nothing like Blake. Still, her eyes certainly showed that she is his offspring.
"She looks like your one sister and her mother," Levi commented. He knew Lily's mother when Blake had a thing for her.
"You have a sister!" Lily chimed brightly.
Blake chuckled. "Yes, a few sisters and brothers. But I must say, you look like your mother, and you certainly resemble my oldest sister."
Mitchell walked closer as Jack got Ian off the ground. "I must add, Lily has your sister's attitude," he told Blake. Then he glanced at Ian before he informed Jack. "And your boy is like you. He made sure Lily came first before himself."
"That's why you wouldn't come to my call!" Jack raised his fatherly brow, and his arms crossed his chest, which had Ian blushing red.
"I made Lily a promise," Ian justified. "I wasn't going to break it."
"Yeah, you can tell he's your offspring," Ivan chuckled from behind Jack as he walked up to Kai.
Once everyone was done chuckling, Kai announced. "It's time to head out of here." He had enough excitement for today and wished to wrap this up.
