Once class was over, Billy walked out with me since we had a break between classes.
"So what happened to you yesterday?" Billy asked, sauntering alongside me.
I replied, "I wasn't feeling well."
"Oh, did you catch a cold?" he questioned, sounding concerned.
I giggled faintly, "No, more like morning sickness."
Billy's eyes gaped shockingly and he stopped to stare at my belly from underneath my black hoodie. "Wow, I didn't have any idea you were pregnant. You're not showing!" Billy exclaimed, rather stunned. "I mean you look great! Congratulations!"
I giggled and we started walking again. "Thanks, but I am only in my first trimester. But before too long I'll be showing," I told him.
"Well, still, you look great," Billy complimented. "My sister looked like crap in her first trimester."
I laughed, "Well, it's not easy carrying another life. So cut your sister a break."
Billy laughed louder, "I know but now she's huge in her last trimester."
"Awe, what's she having?" I asked.
"A girl and a boy," Billy happily announced while I gaped at what he said. "She's having twins."
"Wow, that is so wonderful!" I said surprised and joyful.
Billy laughed teasingly. "Well, I did say she was huge!"
I laugh, hitting his chest over his leather jacket while he only laughed harder.
"Be nice!" I teasingly scolded him.
And he still laughed. "I am!" he claimed, "I can't wait to be an uncle!"
I smiled jolly at him and said. "That's such a blessing. You'll be an awesome uncle."
He smiled warmly and then asked, "How far along are you?"
"I'll be twelve weeks pregnant next Monday," I shared.
"Wow, so you aren't that far along," he said, astonished.
"No, I'm not," I giggled.
Then he looked at the time on his phone. "Let me walk you to your next class before mine starts."
I giggled and took him up on that offer. "Alright, it's this way."
Classes were over faster than I realized for the day. After I said goodbye to my professor, I went outside and began strolling around the campus grounds.
"Hey, Victoria!" Nora waved me down.
"Hey, Nora, what's up?" I greeted, meeting her halfway and she pulled out this familiar folder from her handbag.
"Do you recognize this?" She asked, giggling and I chuckled.
"I guess I forgot this in class," I said, taking it from her.
"Ya, you forgot it in Professor Nasberry's class," she laughed. "I figured you might need it."
I replied, putting it inside my handbag, "Eventually, I would because it has my notes in it for her class. I can't believe I forgot it."
"It must've been a crazy week," Nora commented and we started to walk together.
"You could say that," I didn't deny that.
But I couldn't tell Nora I was in another gateway world. Before that trip, nothing was going well between Kai and me. To put it fairly, my life hasn't been the greatest.
"Hello, ladies!" Billy randomly wandered from the side.
"Billy, are you stalking me?" I teasingly asked and he laughed.
"I swear, I wasn't!" he said, holding his hands up innocently. "I was only cutting through this way."
I giggled at him and saw Nora was eyeing him up. And she was being completely shy, so I moved things along. "Billy this is Nora," I introduced them. "Unlike my friend Mia, Nora is single."
"Victoria!" Nora addressed, blushing redder than a cherry shrimp.
Billy chuckled and held out his hand, saying. "It's nice to meet you, Nora."
"Y-ya, it's... ya, nice to meet you too." Nora stammered horribly but she shook his hand.
I tried my best not to laugh at her. But goodness, she was so clammed inside a shell, that it was cute.
"Well, I'll see you, ladies, around," Billy said.
Before he was about to walk off, I shouted jokingly, "Stalk ya later!"
Billy almost laughed to the ground. "I'll see you tomorrow, Victoria. It was nice meeting you again Nora!" he said, waving us farewell before he finally excused himself.
Nora and I couldn't quit laughing. "Victoria, you are so embarrassing!" she scolded me playfully.
"Hey, I say there's a good chance he likes you!" I teased and she got redder.
"Stop it!" Nora blushed as we wandered to the parking lot. "I'm not attractive enough to have a boyfriend."
"Nonsense, you're the perfect wife, Nora," I told her. "You just need to stop being so shy and get out there."
"I could never," Nora replied, blushing.
"If you wanna date Billy, I can try to hook you up if you want," I offer.
At first, she seemed unsure until I saw she did want my assistance.
"Ok, let's do it!" Nora raved, excitedly.
I hugged her, saying. "Alright, I'll talk to him."
"I'll let you be the matchmaker," she chippered and I laughed, opening up my car door.
"See ya, tomorrow Nora," I said, getting in my car. She waved me goodbye and I pulled out. Then I drove across the lot and left the campus to head home. Things were pretty smooth today, I thought, driving down the road.
Then I saw a line of figures up ahead on the roadway. I slowed my speed only to find my pathway blocked by a line of women, I figured. Until I saw their eyes piercing scarlet red. Most of the vampiresses wore beautiful ladies' trench coats. A few of them wore richly made tan or white fur coats. They were all dressed elegantly, even for wearing jeans. But the one vampiress in the middle was wearing a white fur coat and she stood tall in her black high boots. I intensely breathed and pulled off to the side and then turned off my car. This was probably one of the stupidest moves I could make. Nevertheless, I opened my door and got out of the driver's seat. Any other day, Kai was always here to drive me home. To my mishap, today was the day he wasn't with me. Nor were his guardians anywhere near. How convenient, I felt.
"May I help you?" I asked, trying not to sound shaky, but I'm sure I didn't fool them. My heart was palpitating inside my chest and the tiny pulse in my neck was prancing.
Being vampiresses, I knew they could smell my trepidation. Along with the blood that pumped into my beating heart. If any of them were to strike me. There would be nothing I could do. Knowing all that was unsettling enough. The only thing I had on my side was the fact they were vampiresses, not vampires. Vampires would have likely already made their attack. Since they haven't tried to kill me, I suspect they're here for another motive.
