章 4: 4): Shopping
When they reappeared they were in Diagon Alley in front of Ollivander's, "Thank you Dippy. I will call you when I am ready to return."
"Dippy will wait for Master Blacks call." Dippy said bouncing with some excitement before popping away.
Tanner didn't even know if it was a boy or girl elf, the voice was just so neutral that he couldn't tell, not that it mattered since it was only helping him out right now, and not his personal elf. Shrugging he ignored the store in front of him, even if the old man behind the counter was watching him, he walked off towards Knockturn Alley without fear.
As he reached the mouth of it he ran into none other then Narcissa Malfoy nee Black, the movies didn't do her justice the woman was gorgeous he actually was stunned walking towards her. When they finally met up she raised a brow while looking at him before smirking, in seconds he was wrapped in a hug while she held him tight.
"How is my favorite nephew doing." She asked her sweet voice whispering in his ear, he knew she put up a notice me not so they weren't seen. Otherwise she wouldn't be so affectionate in public like she was.
He rolled his eyes but hugged her close and just as tight, "I am your only nephew Auntie Cissy, how is my most favorite gorgeous aunt doing?" he asked kissing her cheek lightly as he did so.
She smiled brightly, "Oh ever the charmer you are. I am fine dear, just out selling some nasty things my husband has been keeping around the house. How is you cousin Draco? Is he still obsessed with messing with Harry Potter?"
Tanner rolled his eyes, "Of course he still messes with Harry Potter. Though I also don't see why Potter spends so much time around the Weasley child, if anything he seems to bring them down and does not want to better himself."
She smiled lightly while running a hand through his hair, "Well they all can't have your ambition can they, I still don't see how you got into Ravenclaw. You would have been a much better Slytherin and could have taken care of Draco, well at least kept him in place. His almost daily mail to his father has gotten a little annoying."
Shaking his head he hugged her waist one last time, "Well it was good to see you again Aunt Cissy, will I be seeing you again for the Yule holiday?"
"Of course, there is no way that I would miss seeing you this Yule holiday, you always throw the best parties to attend, even if it is just a small gathering." She said squeezing him back and kissing his forehead.
He nodded, "Alright well I need to go get a new wand, my old one broke. Owl me sometime Aunt Cissy."
She kissed him on the forehead nodding a final time before taking off, the sound of Diagon Alley entering his ears again as she walked off. He went straight to Knockturn Alley without worrying who was watching him, sure it was a darker Alley but it had mainly all the cool things that people liked to do, like magical tattoo's.
He smiled at the shop while walking further in until he made it to 'Wand Nightmare', walking inside he saw the shop owner Savannah sitting behind the counter watching him walk in. She perked seeing him walk in, "Well what can I do for you Mister Black, is your wand not preforming well?"
He shook his head, "No that isn't it, this is." He said while showing her his snapped wand.
"Well that will do it." She said nodding while taking the wand and throwing it away not bothering to check it over at all, "We need to get you a new one then, seeing as it has been four years since you have been here let's see if you have affinity with anything new in the shop."
With that she brought out different types of woods for him to check over, he already knew what to expect and started to wave his hands over the woods. He stopped looking down at Acacia marked wood that was below his hand, he nodded not really worried about the wand lore of it, he just needed a wand after all.
"Great that is different from the Beech you got the first time, now let's see if you also have a different core." Savannah said while waving her wand to get rid of the wand woods all besides his new Acacia one.
Looking at the jars holding different cores he waved his hands over them to see which one would react, his hand ended up stopping on two different cores. The first core was a Thunderbird Tail Feather, and the other was a withered bone marked Dementor Finger, it was still in its wispy cloak a little.
"Ahh and unusual cores too, well then this will take some time since there are two of them, come back in two hours and they will be ready for you." She said while waving him away, she was a woman of few words after all.
Tanner nodded and walked out of the shop, he went directly to the the tattoo shop that he had passed earlier on his way to Savannah's. Seeing as he was an emancipated minor then he could do what he wanted, not that anyone in Knockturn Alley would care either way if he was getting a tattoo or not, they just wanted Galleons in their pockets.
Walking inside he saw a man look up from working on a sketch in a book, "Well would you look at that, not many people come here for Tattoo's, the ones that do usually get something great though. So what is it going to be kid?" He asked while rubbing his hands together.
Tanner didn't take long to decide what he wanted, he gave the guy his idea for his tattoo's which disappointed the guy since they weren't anything amazing. Though he did offer some of his own ideas that he decided that he would try out next time he was there, maybe at a later date, but for now he would just go with his first idea.
When he was done on his forearm was a Dynamic Microphone with music notes coming out of it, with it being a magical tattoo the music notes were moving around as if being played. Along his fingers were notes from sheet music that went from thumb to thumb, it was constantly moving which he really loved.
"Alright kid, that will be two hundred Galleons." The man said while holding out his hand for the money.
Tanner didn't waste any time giving it to him before leaving, he had spent enough time there for his wand to be done, the design was big enough that it took up the entire two hours. Walking back to 'Wand Nightmare' he saw that Savannah was sitting at the counter again, she looked bored until he walked in.
"Well I got it done, the cores were a little tricky to get to actually work together in one wand but it will cost extra for all the work I put into it." She said while showing it to him, it was sitting right on the counter.
He nodded picking up the Reddish Brown wood wand, it hummed when it connected with his hand, "Alright well how much is it going to cost me?"
"120 Galleons." She said without batting an eye.
He nodded reaching into his pouch and getting the money, handing it over to her he walked out right after, he didn't see the point in prolonging things. Plus it wasn't his ambition to be a great wizard in the first place, all he needed was to be able to do spells, and get a little better so that he wouldn't need to fear for his life.
"Dippy!" He said while walking back into Diagon Alley, the house elf appearing only seconds after he called it.
"Is Master Black ready to return to school?" Dippy asked bouncing with excitement.
"Yes Please." He said waiting for the little thing to whisk him away back to Hogwarts.
Tanner was taken back, the next time he opened his eyes he was in the front of the school, he made it a little before lunch, though instead of going to lunch he was going to find Luna. The little time he spent away from the girl was actually something he noticed, he missed her little quirky self.
It had only been a night but he loved her being in his presence, smiling to himself he walked into the school, he had told her to wait for him near the black lake so hopefully she was there. Walking straight there though he didn't see her which made him frown, she knew they were going to spend the day together so she should have been waiting here for him.
"Look at Loony Luna crying! Maybe this will teach you a lesson to stay away from Tanner, someone like you has no right to be near him. You will only effect him with how Loony you are." A girl said with venom dripping from her voice, he also heard a soft whimper.
"Does she actually think he will help her, he obviously doesn't care about you! So stay away!" Another voice said to the whimpering Luna.
"He will come. He said he is my husband, and a husband will always take care of his wife." Luna said softly but it was heard by everyone there, even Tanner who despite the situation smiled hearing that. He was glad that she had faith in him because he was always going to be there for him, not because he was her 'husband' but because she was a friend.
"Haha Did you hear that!? Loony Luna thinks---" The girl was cut off by a voice sounding right behind them.
"What did you just call her?" Tanner asked his eyes unconsciously taking a dangerous light inside of them, his wand at his side as he looked at the randoms in front of him.
