章 191: Last Minute Change

Theo, Sage, Gia, and Zagan arrived in the tower with Sage's cloaking charm already in place. It was a good thing, too, because a guard was approaching them just as they exited the portal. They all pressed against the wall of the hallway and watched him pass completely unaware, his loud footsteps gradually growing softer in the distance. 

"That was close," Zagan whispered once he was certain the guard was gone. 

They all stood, stunned into a lingering silence, waiting to see if more would appear. The contrast between the tree house and the palace tower was such a stark one. There was no color. The entire hallway was gray.
