章 123: Mine

Cora shivered from the kiss that sent small shocks of inward light and warmth all over her body, and suddenly she was pulsing with a new kind of life. Theo's blood had helped start her heart, but his kiss was something more. His blood gave her breath, and his kiss took it away. 

"Mate," she repeated the word that now clicked together with his name in her mind, and with it there was a certainty that surpassed everything else that she believed to be true. "They took you away from me." 

Ambrosia had compelled her. Grayson had compelled her. Both of these memories coupled in her mind: the vampires' power play when it came to controlling thoughts. 

They had dared make her forget her mate! Perhaps it wasn't surprising that they had done it but that she had been a victim of it. How could she allow that to happen?

"Cora," Theo called, pulling her from her thoughts once again that were threatening to take over.
