章 122: Let Me In

"What is it?" Cora asked. "What do you need to tell me?" 

Theo sighed. How was he supposed to tell her that she was his mate? This was not usually the way it was done. She should just feel it like she did before. Words couldn't touch the certainty of a feeling that was so strong like the mate bond. 

"Maybe it is something that I need to show you instead," he said, standing from his chair and walking past her to the door where he stopped and glanced back. "Do you mind if I lock it?" 

Her brother had walked in without knocking before, and he didn't want to have to worry about it happening again. If Zane walked in on something that appeared intimate between Theo and his sister, his vampire instincts to attack might kick in.

Cora's face flushed at the unexpected question. Why would he need to lock the door? But maybe… maybe he was going to shift into his wolf. Maybe he needed to show her something like that.
