章 86: Peanut and Fish

Eliade University was home to the research facility that was just on the other side of Suicide Forest. To this day, they were still seeking to create an evolved race of humans from the global pandemic that had begun over two decades prior. 

The experimental results had stagnated when their lead neurologist, Penelope Winter, disappeared and never returned, but the researchers were still there—silently scheming, surely. So much work and initial success in the wake of the pandemic could not go to waste.

August was a freshman there when the pandemic was sweeping the globe, and her unique genetic makeup allowed the virus to successfully change her into a fae-like form of herself. She was an alyko, but one with a different origin. The virus and Eliade's research were the reasons she had the abilities she did today.
