章 50: Brothers

"Okay who was that?" Ava asked Beatrix once Rhys left. She had forgotten that she was standing beside her all this while. 

Rhys had made her feel like she was the only woman in the room. Now everyone's eyes were on her. 

Beatrix blushed and went back to her seat with Ava following behind her. 

"Just an old friend I met a year ago. We hadn't seen each other again until today" Beatrix said vaguely. 

She felt guilty leaving out the big details about who Rhys was, or how she actually knew him. 

But she didn't know Ava enough to share her personal information with her and she couldn't risk anything. 

"Hmm he seems more than a friend you haven't seen in a while, Beatrix." 

Ava said, raising her brows at her. 

Rhys was just a friend now, if you could call it that, more so an acquaintance, Beatrix didn't plan on pursuing a relationship with him further.
