The silence in the room was so loud it was deafening.
Mason's parents were dumbfounded and at the same time surprised.
After Mason had told them he wasn't Jack's son they've both been silent. Staring at him in shock.
His grandmother kept opening and closing her mouth. It was as if she was thinking of the right words to say.
"I take it that you truly didn't know about it?" Mason asked them.
"Of course not! We knew nothing about this," his grandmother said.
His grandfather let out a sigh. They both looked disappointed and the disappointment was in their late daughter.
"We never knew about it. We always thought you were Jack's son, never did it cross our minds that you were not biologically his," Mason's grandfather said.
"Now it makes sense why Jack acted the way he did," his grandmother said slowly shaking her head.
