章 33: PEACEFUL FACE

"We barely know each other," Hazel said, she bit her bottom lip when she felt the sadness that exuded from Micah's entire being. She didn't understand why this man was so attached to her when they knew each other for only a few days.

Was this the way a supernatural creature like him had a romantic relationship? They would fall in love at first sight with their mates? Did that even work? Hazel was a little bit skeptical about that term.

On the other hand, Micah didn't think they barely knew each other, he knew her long enough, long enough to know that she was his world, his life and the only person whose absence could give him such pain.

"In this lifetime, yes," he whispered softly. His voice was a little bit hoarse, as if he was holding back his emotions.

And that feeling washed over Hazel, somehow, she could feel his sadness and longing in his voice. She was confused as to how she could feel that way, but she couldn't help it.
