章 55: A Mistake

"You cannot control your magick." Matthew said the moment he let her down from his arms. She didn't respond. Instead she looked around as she tried to steady herself on the uneven ground. 

Matthew's speed just then had far surpassed her expectations. She never knew that a shifter could actually move like that in a human form.

"Why did you do that?" she asked. "I could have killed Amore's son!"

"No you couldn't."

"What?"

"You are too angry."

"What are you talking about?" she asked. 

"Let's go."

"Matthew… explain yourself. Why did you stop me?"

He stared at her, lips pursed.

"Answer me!"

"Let's leave this place and…"

"Was it because you are scared it would damage your reputation?" she asked. Earlier, her anger had been uncontrollable— almost uncontrollable.

"What?"

"Why the hell did you stop me Matthew?!"

*BOOM!*

The loud thunder echoed as the snow started to fall around them.
