章 229: A strange power

There was one thing Mike wanted to ask above anything else. It was a question that ate him from the moment he met Stephan. Mike knew he wasn't a wanderer and his personality wasn't like he remembered; it was why he waited and didn't say anything. He wanted to ask it before but the opportunity didn't come.

"I got a question for both of you before we can end this whole talk," this was enough to attract both their attentions. Right now, every word he said mattered to the others. He was older than them mentally but physically, it was hard to decide. "Why do you act like nothing is happening? It's like you don't have emotions at all."

Both of them looked at each other, surprised. It was as if they didn't realize it before. It was a strange question to ask but thinking about it, it seemed that truly they acted as if they didn't have emotions. They were too calm, too distant that it was hard to believe they were only teenagers.
