"I hate you," I fold my arms, and turn my face to look out of the window. "You are a bully. I hate you. And I won't ever speak to you. You can't force me to do that." I stubbornly folded my arms and glared at the passers-by.

"I'm sorry." Sly apologized for the seventh time.

"Let's go home. I don't want to stay out here any more than I need to."

"Won't you forgive me for that little slip? I promise I won't ever say such a word."

"Why am I complaining?"

"I won't ever say it."

"Suit yourself. I want to go home."

Sly didn't start the car immediately, he sat there for a minute more, looking at me, before he decided it was time to leave.

"What do you want, Lee? Should I get another phone for you? Do you want to go shopping? Or do you want me to take the day off, tomorrow? I can take you to the bridge you love so much. And the—"
