The baby chick was surprised. It chirped in glee and flew straight to the root. 

"Hey! Where are you going?"

The young man panicked. He opened the window and managed to catch the baby chick in time.

"You little troublemaker -!" He hissed. But he tenderly pulled the baby chick to his chest and hid him in his inner pocket. 

There's a soft creaking noise echoing in his ears. He thought it was just the trees. 

Until something wrapped itself in his wrists and waist, pulling him out of the window. 

"The fuck!" 

The baby chick senses he is in danger. It hurriedly spewed out flames and burned the root that had bound his wrists.

The young man hurriedly ran inside the house. But it only took two steps before the roots caught him again. 

And this time, the baby chick in his chest was not left unscathed. A swirling mist suddenly chained it down.
