章 88: An Argument.

The servants served the food and they all began to eat in silence. When it was time to dish the Kheer, Priyanka served everyone. Varun gave her a necklace and grandmother gave her a ring. Her mother-in-law gave a earrings. 

"When will you come back from work?" Varun asked, looking at Karan. 

He stopped eating and sighed "I don't know. There is so much work for me today."

"Finish them on time. I want you to attend a meeting at my office. It is going to start at noon."

"I won't have time for that, father. I have to work till five in the evening" He told him.

Varun was not going to give up. He insisted "You will leave your work and come to the meeting. I'm tired of your excuses."

Karan frowned. He did not understand why his father had to raise this issue again "I'm sorry to disappoint you, minister. I can't come."

"You should be ashamed of yourself, son" Varun was angry. He continued with his food while Karan shifted his plate.
