章 49: Crime
Skylar opened his eyes, he was across the school street. He could hear nothing but the sound of the wind blowing against him.
What is this? Skylar realized this was his dream after falling asleep.
Skylar could feel his hands moving, fumbling in his trouser pockets. He couldn't control his hand that moved on its own. It was like he was in someone else's body. Skylar couldn't even take his eyes off his.
In his hand, he took out a photo of him being embraced by Neil. It was their childhood photo, Skylar wanted to stare at it a little longer, but his hand slipped it back into his pocket.
Skylar's eyes moved to the school gate across the street, he saw himself walking away and lost by the distance. Skylar realized he was inside Neil's body, what a dream this was to make it all feel real. It was like what happened this morning but he was in Neil's perspective.
Just as he was about to take a step, someone grabbed his hand. Skylar felt himself jolt, he couldn't control his body to fight back. His mouth was locked tightly when the big man pulled himself into the deserted alley.
His hand was still firmly gripped, even though he was struggling. Skylar felt a cold sweat appear.
"Skylar, we've been waiting for this day. Our boss must be happy," Skylar? This is wrong, he is in Neil's body but why is that person calling him. Please wake him up from this strange dream. Skylar didn't understand.
The sound of a woman's laughter deafening his ears, he approached Skylar quickly following his cheeks which suddenly hurt.
"Never reappear in front of Raihan," the woman stepped back and crossed his arms, and gave a code to the two big men. Skylar got kicked in the stomach. What is this dream that Skylar can feel the pain?

Skylar was unable to fight back. His body crashed to the ground, he didn't know what they were doing. All fast. All Skylar knew was pain, which made him lose focus.
The woman swung the wooden block at his head as his ears buzzed loudly. Skylar wouldn't care anymore, with the wooden blow to his body and the pain. If this incident happened outside of his dream. That was the reason Neil got hurt yesterday. Look, the person who hit him or whoever dragged him here. They will regret it.
Skylar coughed so fresh blood came out of his mouth as he hit him in the stomach.
Skylar could only look around the deserted alley, it was only fitting that they could do this to him. Skylar knew Neil's body was about to speak. But he could feel his throat dry.

That word, which Neil's lips spoke very softly. Skylar just wanted to cry now even when he had always been against Neil's presence in his universe when these people were even misguided in their crimes. Even though Neil forgot about Skylar. Neil didn't hate him.
The man in the black shirt and the woman approached him. The next thing they do is make Skylar want to just disappear or if he can move his body he will beat them until they beg for forgiveness.

Skylar was awakened by a knock on the door in the middle of the night heard from outside. Skylar didn't care at first, but he eventually limped and moved up from his reclining position to open his locked bedroom door.
At the door stood the figure of his father Skylar had always admired. However, I don't know what made his parents so different and selfish. He couldn't possibly blame them for going their separate ways, but at least they cared enough to not traumatize his older brother Neil until now.
Skylar left his bedroom door open so Raihan could come in and do what his father wanted him to do.
He chose to sit on the edge of the bed and focus on his thoughts. Skylar is very disappointed with what his father did for not being able to take good care of Neil before. Made Neil what he is now.
It's also part of Skylar's fault for not being honest with Neil right away and being so mean to him that Neil vents too much of his frustration on Skylar. He regretted when the confession sentence that he was Neil's twin brother did not come from Skylar's mouth, but from someone else's.
"I heard you scream," Raihan spoke amidst the silence that ensued between them.
Skylar was silent, waiting for Raihan to continue his speech. He looked at the plain wall in front of him as if that was the thing that caught his attention the most.
"I thought something happened to you." Raihan ended his remark which Skylar didn't immediately respond to.
Skylar folded the ends of the pillowcase she had between his thighs. Questions were already on the tip of Skylar's tongue ready to pop. However, he was afraid that what he said would hurt his father later.
"Did you run when Neil screamed in his room too? Or was Dad busy at work?"
Raihan seems lost for words, Skylar wants to know, how this all happened from Raihan's point of view. Is it true that his father doesn't care? Or maybe his father does care but doesn't quite understand how. "Dad is busy at work. To not pay much attention to Neil, there are only nights when Dad is free and Neil is asleep."
"No need to be sorry, Dad. Because everything has happened and nothing can change the past," said Skylar who was actually to himself.
"Neil already knows I'm his twin."
"Neil remember?" asked Raihan for a moment.
Skylar shook his head in disapproval. "No, Neil found out himself."
Raihan rubbed his face and spoke. "Father already guessed Neil must be very angry and wondering why you hid from Neil."
Skylar agrees with that, Neil is really mad at Skylar. Until he chooses not to return and remains in the dimension Neil lives in now. Anger Skylar never expected would come from Neil.
"Sure, Dad. Neil was so angry he told Dad to forget about him. Neil didn't want to go home and chose to live there," Skylar said which was very hard to pronounce.
"How could you forget your son? And Neil chose to stay there?"
"Father is very worried about Neil, especially now that he is with Sain."
Oh, Sain! His father would probably jump between dimensions if he found out what Sain did to Neil.
"Dad don't worry. Nothing will happen to Neil, he is strong Daddy to get to this stage," he said.
