Even if she had not spoken, which revealed her angry tone, Gus would have been able to tell that she was far from happy with his choice to take the initiative. She had silently escorted them back to the base, and the silence was telling of how she felt.
"What were you thinking? Why would you just go to the message immediately? We have a specific way of doing things for a reason."
"They needed help, and we went and helped them. If we hadn't gone when we did, then those soldiers who were there might have died," Gus answered. To him, it made perfect sense. If he had waited, it was a fair assumption to make that the soldiers there would die, especially with the reinforcement of the tank that they found was minutes away when the message was sent.
