章 67: Magical Maladies

"Why does he even have a book like this?" Mariana was questioning her entire life. It was obvious that Daniel had nothing against angels, at least on the surface…but had he been judgmental in the past? Or were books about angelic things simply so hard to find?

Well, she had to read more, anyhow, because this book had captivated her with the strange charm of cruelty in the author's voice.

"Beautiful on the surface but fickle…fickle and petulant…this does sound like the criticism I have received recently. Have I always been like that? Why are half-angels even allowed to be such little devils?"

She lowered the book onto her lap. She was sitting with her legs folded under her, it was comfortable and this way, she didn't have to worry about causing any additional damage to her recovering body.

Her stomach felt just fine, though. It was just a bit funny to get mortally wounded and then have her immortality powers kick in and fix everything almost instantly.
