In a forest just a few kilometers away from a city, a man was walking under the canopy of trees heading straight towards the near city.
The man looks to be in his mid twenties. He has a tall and a lean but muscular build, short black hair and a fairly average appearance.
The man whose name is Keyl Losran was walking back from the forest after his morning meditation routine that he do everyday near a river inside the forest.
While he was walking, he suddenly heard a faint crying noise of someone far away from him. He stopped walking for a moment and turned towards the direction of the crying sound.
"A baby's cry?" he muttered quietly to himself before he made a move. "Might as well check it out."
Then, a strange thing occurred. Without any sound, any commotion, anything happening at all, in a split second, Keyl disappeared from his position in a blink of an eye. If there were any people who witnessed that event, some might think that Keyl was a ghost for suddenly disappearing like that.
Exactly one kilometer away from Keyl's original position, Keyl emerged from seemingly out of nowhere and just in front of him is a small basket where the cry he heard earlier was coming from.
Keyl moved closer and took off the blanket that covered the basket and there it showed itself.
"That's a baby alright." Keyl said to himself while looking at the baby. The baby has a cute face, about a few months old as far as he could tell, and has some blonde hair already growing on its head.
"It's a girl huh?" When Keyl looked closely at the baby, he knew that the baby was undoubtedly a girl. Of course, he didn't check it's private region just to make sure since he felt awkward and wrong at the same time just casually checking it like that.
At the time that he was checking out the baby, something was troubling his mind ever since he saw the baby's appearance.
'Who would left a child this young in a forest like this? An elf child at that.' Karl thought to himself when he noticed the baby's pointed ears, a very elf-like feature.
Elves are one of the major races living in the world of Lumen. Their origin was said to have come after the appearance of mana in the world but even till this day, this mystery which is considered to be one of the greatest mystery in the world of Lumen has yet to be confirmed.
As most of you know already, elves are more beautiful, elegant and refined than other races. Furthermore, they are one of the races who has a great affinity to mana that's why a lot of elves are strong and coupled with the fact that they have long lifespans, this solidified their positions as one of the major races in the world.
Another trait of the elves that made them famous is their unity. Because of the universal love of the elves towards nature, this greatly helped them in forming a strong bond towards each other, even to those who are not full elves.
Another reason for their unity is because elves have a low birthrate compared to other races. That's why they number less than some other races. With this restriction in place, elves were very protective towards each other, especially the newborns.
All the more reason why Keyl was confused about how could an elf, a baby at that, could have appeared in this forest.
But that's only half of the reason why his so troubled. At the chest of the baby lays a very beautiful necklace that has the appearance of three crescent moons connected to each other by their endpoints with a star in the middle of the three crescent moons. The chain of the necklace was silver in color while the three moons have a blue, white and purple color and the star has the golden color.
'Does this symbol mean anything? Obviously the three moons and one star pertains to the three moons and the sun in the sky. But as far as I remember, I haven't seen this kind of symbol anywhere at all. And the material used in this is fuckin expensive.' he didn't have any clue at all on what could possibly be the meaning of the necklace, if there is even one in the first place, but he did have an idea where it came from.
'Elven Paradise maybe? I mean, that's the most logical place to think of, considering she is an elf and this expensive necklace could only be made in a place like that. Though there is one thing I'm sure of.'
"This baby is practically a flag."
Keyl started thinking on what to do with the baby as a conflicted and a complicated look appeared on his face.
After a few seconds of thinking, he sighed and said to himself, "Sigh, no need to think so much ain't it? I'll just take it to the city first and see what happens in the future."
Keyl picked the basket carefully while saying, "Well at least now I have something to do, rather than staying bored." as he started walking again towards his original destination while carefully holding the basket in his arms.
