章 81: Sentimental Declarations

Throughout the week after Amanda's accident and also after he, Chairman Emad had abruptly left the family, they had kept calling him almost every day. Sam had received the calls with the same monotonous message,

"Chairman Emad is busy and will return your call soon," But of course, Chairman Emad never did and was more concerned about his granddaughter who was at death's door. After Amanda had woken up, he decided to go meet them and find out what they wanted. He had a guess but felt that he wanted to hear from them directly to confirm his thoughts.

He took a good look at them when he entered the room with Sam. He watched his 'family' quietly and studied them one after the other as if he wanted to memorise their features or attitudes.

'Greed!', that is all he saw in them. At ninety years, he had seen life for what it was and could see through many facades, but he was also patient with all, as he had all the time in the world that he needed.
