Lady Evelyn gently pressed her palm over mine and began unleashing her abilities. The scorched area was healed within a glance.

I felt envious of her. Vampires could also heal their injuries. However, there were limitations when the heat was involved.

We were sitting in her king-sized bed-chamber. The room was pretty conventional compared to her appearances. White textured walls and white embroidered curtains were giving off such a tender feeling.

"The room is oddly unlike you, Lady Evelyn," I said in a tiny voice, glancing around the room.

She only chuckled a bit while applying some ointment to my fingers.

"This is how Lord Xavier liked it," she replied shortly.

Her words hit me hard. I recognized that the bed-chamber I was sharing with Xavier had an identical vibe. Evelyn even enhanced her bed-chamber to his fondness. Just how intimate were they? I resented the feeling. I was becoming impatient.
