章 314: Etched

Noah's POV

For some reason, when I got home I decided the best use of my time was to clean out the armory and inspect every last piece of weapon we owned.

As I tore through the huge armory, cataloging and inspecting arrows, bows, bullets and guns among other things, I could feel my beta's gaze on me.

"What?" I murmuring as I dismantle a Glock into fragments.

"Did something happen, Alpha?" My beta, Mateo asked me.

"No" I said.

"Are we going to war?" He asked me.

"Did any pack declare war on us?" I replied his question with a question.

"No, Alpha Noah. Nobody declared war" Mateo answered but the uneasiness in his voice remained.

"There you have it…the answer to your question, we are not going to war" I told him firmly.

Mateo cleared his throat.

I knew he was looking for the audacity to ask me questions that were best left unasked.

"I guess what I'm trying to ascertain, Noah is…did something happen?"
