CHAPTER 40

SHIELD Headquarters

Everyone assembled in Fury's Room as he had called for all of them.

Barton, Natasha, and Ian were late as they had a mission to silence a few SHIELD Agents who were working for the unknown organization.

Soon they arrived as well.

"All right, Maria begin…" Fury said.

"After processing the data available and all the agents' data… I can say there are many Hydra Agents… I still can't give a correct count as I and Phil are still going through more. What we have found till now is that many recruits' data are falsified, and many top agents' data are as well. We can't take out the top ones as that will prompt them to act cautious but we can weed out the lesser agents one by one. This process will take time and I have no way to say how much as well… Phil continue…"

"With Maria giving you an update on our current SHIELD predicament, I will talk about the others. Governors of many States, Senators, Military Officers like Private First Class, Sergeants, Warrant Officers, Chief Warrant Officers, Captains, Majors, Lieutenant Colonel, Police of different levels like Police Officers, Police Detectives, Police Captains, Former COP, FBI, CIA, Doctors, Lawyers, the list goes on. They have hidden well and the issue is like Maria said, we can take out the small ones but doing anything to the higher officials will bring us a great problem. If we take out even one… then the others will be armed and protected."

There was a pause as silence descended in Fury's office.

"If we have to end them, we have to end them at the same time…" Natasha said destroying the silence.

"Yes… but that is not feasible. I mean even if we can do this… what will be after that… Chaos," Ian turned to Natasha.

"Do we even have the manpower to do something on this scale?" Ian continued.

"What are we going to do?" Barton questioned.

Fury who was silent got up and stood near the closed window.

"We…" (A/N: What do you think he will do?)

In the Base.

A figure was flickering in the distance continuously.

He was near the table, then he was near the Weapons Rack, then he was standing on the sparring ground, then he was near the shooting range, and this kept on going.

'Greater Blink is beyond everything. Mana Regeneration has also increased. 16% for every time… no Mana is required for creating a pointer though I can't make more than 2. This doesn't stop me from creating another pointer the moment I Blink to the first Pointer. I can keep navigating quickly though controlling the distance is difficult but I am getting the hang of it. Greater Dark Vision is the best power I have now. To see everything within a radius of 150 meters would have been an ability any Assassin would give anything to get it. But the major point I was able to discover through luck was using Blink along with Manifest. With the help of Manifest and Greater Dark Vision, I can create a pointer that will allow me to Blink to even if a wall is blocking my natural sight. The drawback was the draining of close to 70% of Void Energy/Mana. I would be using this as a life-saving measure…'

He turned to see the laptop which was finishing the completion of something. There was another device near the laptop that was connected to it through different mechanisms. This was his latest creation. A new bow. Though the bow looks the same there was a major change to it and that was retracting arrows.

He created a device that is now attached to his bow, once pressed will call upon the arrows in a surrounding of 200 meters to him. His arrows also have a miniature device that will be added to them. The issue was developing them was a hectic process.

'I have to figure out a way to make the process happen on its own. Right now, I have only 5 Retractable Arrows, and just creating the Lock and Retract Device, and adding the software to it took me two weeks… If I want more, I have to ensure the working process happens on its own…'

He took the arrow and entered it into the bow. He aimed and shot at the mannequin in the distance.

'Now to check whether it works or not…'

He pressed the device and it failed. It did not return but other items like pins flew at him and he had to use Blink to dodge them quickly. He repressed the device on the bow quickly to stop.

'That was close… The magnet range is a problem… It is not working for even 25 meters… How am I going to tackle this? Not only does the magnet have to be strong but it should only focus on the device I have attached to the arrow alone if not everything item in the range will come at me… I completely forgot about that… or should I go forth in a different way? I have to learn more…'

He sighed and went and took the arrow. He went back and placed them on the table. He was looking at them intently but he did not get even a small idea of how to go about it and soon a new idea sparked.

'Since I am now able to create skills like Blinking even if there is a wall blocking me with the help of Manifest… should I do something for the arrows? Create arrows out of the Void Energy? I have no idea how taxing it will be and what will the damage scope be. I will have to see how the Void will affect the one who is inflicted by the damage and I will also have to ensure the Void Energy that I use disappears as well… which will happen but to be on the safer side I have to check… Other than that, how much of the Void Energy will be required for me to create an arrow and test whether the damage done will be different from the amount of Void I imbue…'

'Bend Time slows Time, Greater Blink manipulates Space allowing me to teleport, Greater Dark Vision provides me Vision to see all, Vortex devours other's Soul and brings me nourishment, Void Walk nullifies Space and Time making me intangible, Manifest grants me control over Void, all these abilities have something to with me whereas only Vortex involves others by completely killing them, then how will Void Arrow work? All the abilities were granted to me by the Outsider, he must have created them in some way… how does he create? What is required for me to create?'

(A/N: Void Energy and Mana are the same. I am using Void Energy from now on as it gives more sense than saying, Mana. I will use the word Mana when he uses an ability though as at the moment it will be better for understanding.)

'To use Blink even when a wall is blocking me… I had to will the Void Energy to appear and form Blink while using Dark Vision by also using Manifest, it was my will and intent for it happens including the use of Manifest but will doing the same allow me to create Void Arrow? Will that be enough just shaping the Void Energy in the form of Arrow when using Manifest?'

Another sigh came out from Andrew.

'I need a change of mind…'

He took the laptop and opened an already existing application on the taskbar and it showed a view of a CCTV camera.

The CCTV Camera showed a luxurious room. There were 4 men dressed in black who were checking the room for any type of device but found nothing. They were aware of the CCTV Camera as they were the ones who fit them in this room. The screen changed and it showed another CCTV Camera view. In a few seconds, it changed again and showed a pool with many people partying.

There was a man with blonde hair standing close to 6ft tall with a bulky muscled body who was talking with another one of the Black dressed Men. He was serious and the Man in Black kept acknowledging whatever he was saying and answering when required.

A few seconds later, the Man in Black left.

The blonde-haired man took a deep breath and turned back to see the party that is going on. His face which showed seriousness before changed to that of a lustful grin as he eyed a few women inside the pool. There was a small scar on the man's face which made him look intimidating and moved forward and slapped a woman's ass which jolted the woman for a second before laughing and kissing the man.

Hey guys!!

I have completed my TOEFL Exam still waiting for the result.

Did good in Reading and Listening but Speaking was tough not because I couldn't understand and talk. It was because multiple people were taking exams along with me and every one of them was yelling as if they won a million dollars. But yeah, I did that too… so not sure how much I will get in that. The Writing Section was fun to do. Well, I will stop with my Exam stuff.

So, what do you think of Greater Blink + Greater Dark Vision combination?

With the help of Manifest, he can do these abilities and create new ones as well. So, go ahead and give your ideas here.
