章 71: Meeting
"By the way, I'm Mophis."
After telling his name, Mophis rushed into the portal instantly.
He seemed to be rushing as his speed increased from before being stopped by Mohit.
After Mophis crossed the portal, it slammed shut.
Kartik: "It was noiseless."
Professor Apurv: "Not that sound can travel in space."
Kartik: "What?"
"You're lying, right."
"I just saw Mophis and Mohit talk in space."

Professor Apurv smiled at Kartik and said, "I just said that sound can't travel in space; I never said that you can't talk in space."
His statement bewilders Kartik as he finds no sense in it.
However, after giving his reply, Professor goes away, leaving him with no one to ask.
He looks around and finds everyone leaving.
Seeing that he has no one to ask about his doubts, he decides to leave.
He returns back to his room and decides to enter the Pearl.
He does this because he has a hunch that the meeting probably won't be canceled.
This is why he enters the Pearl after informing his secretary.
After entering the Pearl, he wastes no time before reaching out to Pearl.
Kartik: "Pearl, is the meeting still there, or has it been canceled."
Pearl hears Kartik calling to it and comes out.
Pearl: "Oh, hey Kartik!"
"Don't worry; the meeting hasn't started yet"
"It will begin after 30 minutes of Earth time."
"You can prepare for it."
Kartik was a little surprised to find that the meeting hadn't started yet.
Pearl, who saw his surprise, answered his doubts.
Pearl: "Don't be surprised."
"After everyone got the news of Mophis appearing, no one was in the mood to continue the meeting."
"Everyone who had arrived unanimously decided to postpone the meeting."
"You must have gotten the message of both the postponing of the meeting and the current decision of restarting the meeting."
Kartik remembers that he hasn't checked his phone or email since he decided to enter Pearl for the initial meeting.
He never thought that something like this would have happened.
He decides to check his phone now.
He exits Pearl and retrieves his phone.
He unlocks the phone only to find dozens of notifications waiting for him to read.
He didn't think he'd get so many notifications in such a short time.
He hurriedly read all of them and found that most of them were talking about postponing the meeting.
There were some about Mophis and a few reminding him to come to the new meeting.
It was mentioned that this meeting would also be bringing the crew of fleet 53.
This crew interacted with Mophis for real and also crossed the portal to see the other side.
He was also excited to meet the crew.
He had already decided to meet the crew after the meeting.

Seeing that everyone was there, the chairperson presided over the meeting and decided to start the meeting, although there was still a minute before the stipulated time.

"Most of us met him for the first time today."

Kartik was shocked that there were theories in the Empire regarding creatures similar to Mophis.
However, he wasn't related to science, so his knowledge relating to science was only what he studied in his leisure time and what was forced on him in his childhood years.
