章 179: Destination
With Ren driving, they very soon reached their destination.
Don't underestimate Ren.
Despite being scum for going after so many girls, he wasn't inconsiderate.
He always tried to understand the girl he was with and would take notes about their likes and dislikes.
Only then would he narrow the list of places and activities they can go to and do.
This time was no different and he had put some effort into something guaranteed to bring her happiness.
He parked the car, and then helped her out.
"Where's this?"
Unsurprisingly, from this side of the view, she wasn't able to tell where they were due to the buildings obscuring the place, but Ren was very sure she would know the place once she sees it.
"Well, I won't ruin the surprise for you so just bear with it for a bit,"
He had an apologetic smile on his face as he said this.
And she pouted but understood that it was worth it for her to see it live with her own eyes rather than be spoiled by the fun of it.
With that in mind, she reached her hand and grabbed his.
Ren was slightly surprised at her forwardness as this was something normally the male should do, but as he was acting respectful for now, he couldn't guess that she would be the one to do it.
Still, he smiled and grasped her hand back.
He wasn't going to embarrass her if she chose to take such a big step.
'She must be nervous,'
Ren was aware of this. He could even see her cheeks were dyed a slight pinkish hue. Which was something rare for her.
As he held her hand, he led the way while the two engaged in small talk.
He led them toward the place, and along the way Asui kept trying to see if she would recognize this area, but it seemingly wasn't something she saw before.
This both excited and annoyed her.
'Where are we going already?'
The mystery of it all only served to further intrigue her and to an extent also annoy her since she wanted to know already.
But Ren only chuckled at her pout and steered the subject of their talk off of that.
Finally, they had entered a building, and considering how huge t was and the structure that was at the base, she seemed to only notice the lower part as it hid the top.
So, she couldn't see what it was.
"Is this the place?"
She muttered as she tried to recollect what this was, but she wasn't lucky.
"Actually, you'll have to wait a bit until we reach it, this is just the entrance and we still have to go higher,"
He explained as he saw her slightly disappointed expression.
He had a smile on his face, and when she saw it, she was slightly stunned and her cheeks which had settled down after she had got accustomed to holding hands with him, once again blared a pink hue.
Ren just chuckled.
This structure was huge in the lower part, so she wasn't able to see the top at all, but she vaguely felt like she should know this place, it just slipped from her mind where she had seen or known about such a place.
Still, when they finally stepped off the stairs, she finally knew this place.
This was the place that held a lot of enjoyment and information for people who were enthusiastic about historical remains of animals and monsters, or generally anything in a museum.
The amount of enthusiasm people held for this place wasn't slow, and it was the biggest of such places in the whole city.
But this place held another allure for people like Asui. It was because this place held a section mainly for insect biology, swamps marvelous ecosystems, and other things like that.
If there was anything people wanted to know about such subjects, this was the place to go to, especially as the knowledge they held dates back centuries ago and they still had some living species that had gone instinct in the outside world.
This place didn't have just the remains, but rather also alive species that were on the verge of extinction.
It was such a big deal that even ren was actually interested in it.
You can see some species that were only talked about as legends in this place and that had a huge allure to him, much less her who was a very deep enthusiast about such a place.
'It wasn't even easy to get tickets so there's that…'
He had actually tried more than usual to procure these two tickets and that was only because he pulled his SSS rank status.
And when he got the tickets the one who handed them was slightly depressed about it and very reluctant to part with them as if they were his own tickets and Ren had stolen them from him.
'Still considering the rumors of what is here… I guess it deserves all the attention it's getting.'
On the other side, suddenly Asui sprung to her feet and closed up on Ren.
Ren's nose picked up the smell of perfume and the next thing that happened was him feeling a soft body touch him.
She had hugged him with a wide smile on her face.
And without leaving him any time to recuperate, she further proceeded to kiss his cheeks.
That was such a big step up for her considering that she had been struggling to hold his hands before, but here she was now kissing his cheek.
Who knows how long she takes to kiss his lips directly?
Even Asui herself seemingly recognized this fact too late and then she hurriedly separated from him her cheeks once again dyed red, but her hand still didn't let go of his despite the fact that steam was coming out of her ears.
"T-That, I was just too excited, sorry,"
She hurriedly apologized and ren chuckled in return with an easing smile on his face to let her relax.
She did so after a bit and then Ren said.
"It's fine, it's not like I would mind if it's you haha,"
His words both embarrassed her and pleased her at the same time but in the end, her happiness won out and a smile graced her face.
"Still, how did you manage to get it?"
She referred to the special permit to enter that Ren had acquired for them both.
She knew how hard it was to enter, and it had always been one of her goals to get enough money someday and do this on her own or with her partner.
'Partner…'
Her eyes glanced at Ren with slight intent in them and her smile seemed to be happier than before.
But ren didn't notice this, and instead flexed his right bicep as he put his left hand over it and with a cheerful smile said.
"After all, I'm an SSS rank hero, right?"
She knew he was joking with her and teasing her, so she smiled happily.
She didn't mind how he got it anyway, if she could do the same, she would do it without hesitation. All to witness the great part of history hidden here.
And with that, both of them stepped inside and their steps were slightly more hurried than before.
