[Margaret's POV]
When I became aware of the sudden brightness in front of me, a surge of intense pain from my right shoulder and half of my body came crashing over me. I let out a stifled groan that was unbearable, but the sound and my breath only bumped against the oxygen mask on my face, failing to make much noise.
The fact that Donald could hear such a faint sound at all was actually quite remarkable.
My head felt heavy and foggy, and I was extremely sleepy, yet there was a voice above my head calling to me incessantly!
I was incredibly familiar with this voice; it was like an excellent painkiller or tranquilizer, inexplicably comforting me.
"Margaret? Baby, you're finally awake! Don't rush to move, the effect of the anesthesia in your body has just worn off, and your shoulder must be hurting a lot, right? I'll call Ace over right away to give you a painkiller injection, just bear with it a bit longer."
