The second Kerry and Paul walked into the hotel suite, the crew stood from their various positions in the living room. Washed in embarrassment, Kerry frowned. She should have called Sammy immediately upon leaving the hospital, knowing the team would be worried. If it were one of them, she'd be frantic, too. They were a unit, a family.
She quickly gave them the good news.
Paul sat and opened his laptop. His expression during the car ride was sticking with her. He'd seemed...hurt. She didn't know what about her words had caused his face to crinkle in pain.
She sighed. "I talked to my family, and no one is sick."
Cain leaned back in his seat. "I'm not sure if that means anything. Illness and injury can happen fast."
She glanced at Paul, but he was paying her no mind.
"Pull up a chair," Cain said. "We did some digging while you were gone."
