章 67: Using her gift to help a friend

"Fable, how many more years of grinding before I can apply to the Draconius?" 

Ava and her companion were standing by a clear lake as they skipped flat stones on its placid surface. Their ship had landed on a habitable planet where many wealthy families had moved to after the other planets began to get suffocatingly crowded. As they waited for their commander to return from some meeting, the two trouble magnets had exited the ship again.

"You could sit on your ass for a few hundred years and never make it, Ava. What matters is your service record, not how many years you've served." 

She knew that but she had hoped to hear a different answer from Fable. 

"Hey, you two, come back inside!" They heard Bambi call them. "Commander told us to not let the both of you out of our sight."
