章 8: The Demon's Mark

“Ouch!” Aisha yelped in pain, “What was that?”

She opened her palm and saw a curious mark in the middle with intricate swirls. The mark burned bright, but then eventually faded into a pale scar. She looked up to see Damien’s brooding face as the pain in her hand continued to throb – a reminder that she was now his.

The demon looked like he was having fun with her and somehow, it rather ticked her off. Aisha balled her hands into fists as she tried to hold herself back from bursting in anger. She needed to calm down and choose her actions wisely.

Aisha wasn’t dealing with any ordinary being. Damien now held her life and her chance to return home. She would have to befriend him if she needed to go down that path.
