章 73: The embarrassing moment

Maria studied the man before her. Regardless of the fact he shared DNA with her father, they looked nothing alike. 

Maybe it was a good thing for everyone that they all looked like their mothers. To think that she felt the surprise for the day was over, but they just kept piling up. 

This was one surprise for the book. She was sure she had checked everywhere and never saw a sign of him. Maybe he just arrived, she thought. Regardless, everything wasn't going as smoothly as she would have hoped. She felt herself losing control. 

It was almost as if fate was fighting her. She didn't dwell on it for too long, though. She knew who she was. She knew her strengths, intelligence, and intrigue. 

She wasn't going to let a surprise ruin her plans, so she raised her eyes to meet his and cooly said, "Hello, Uncle Lorenzo."
