Lexy plopped down in the middle of Clyve's bed and watched him change for basketball practice. She had to admit he had a beautiful body, brown and well-developed. Tall, lean. Every girl's dreamboat. Life would be easier for both of them if the romance their parents had joked about since they were young had ever come to fruition, but it wasn't meant to be. They both that before they were old enough to graduate elementary school that best friends was as good as it got.

"So what did you want to talk to me about?" Clyve asked as he pulled a jersey over his head.

"Remember when we agreed I'd be your girlfriend until something better came along. It seemed like a great idea at the time. We were together all the time anyway, and it kept the riffraff from hanging all over you."

"Yeah, I remember. So?"

"So, what if I said something better came along?"

Clyve froze with his shirt halfway over his sculpted abs. "Really? Do tell. Do I know him?"
